      • I have been looking at Facebook marketplace and Gumtree and the difference between the prices of pre-owned and new is not that significant which makes me wondering whether XBox One S is the new Apple iPhone?

        • People sell high, but if you make an offer about 15% below, you'll usually find a good middle ground without pissing each other off

  • copped this, been waiting for good price, thanks

  • Bought a CC Ultra thanks. Only disappointment is it doesn’t seem able to be powered by a USB cable like the CC 1 anymore.

    • oh what! wow that's disappointing! oh well still a good price.

    • how's it powered then?

      • It includes a cable attached to a wall power adapter.

    • I think you can power it via a USB cable, but or normal USB port won't provide enough power for the CPU to process 4K, so it only streams at FHD?

      • Yes, that's what I have read. Some people even say the USB ports of their TV can't even power up their CC Ultra.

  • Grabbed an Ultra at JB World Square (still a number available behind the counter) thanks

Chromecast link is now dead. Can't find it on their site anymore, either.

    • Link is 404, but I just went to the Enex100 store in Perth and they had a big pile of them. Still scanned through at the register for $55.

    • Can anyone confirm the price is still available in store?

Edit: beat me by 10sec, thanks chillemi

EDIT2: I just called JB Ringwood and the lady said they're now scanning at $79… Looks like the deal might be over :/

  • Yep its over..

  • Chromecast Ultra link comes up as an error. Deal expired?
How do I price match with OfficeWorks now?

  • scanned at $79 in Sydney westfields store

    • Must be a flash sale. I just picked one up for $55 less than 2 hours ago, even though the sticker price still said $79.

  • +2

Was just in chatswood for me CC. Lady was pulling off the tags and mentioned to me it was a price error. They fixed the price back to $79

  • Won't honour it at my store. Saying it's the home mini and have no idea what I'm talking about

  • The link is down, so I just showed them this post and got it for $55.
That was with JB at Sydney CBD. The lady at the counter know about this and have no problem honor this deal.
    Thanks.

One JB in Brisbane CBD told me that it is just a pricing error and scanned it at $79, I went to another JB and they had the ultra price at $55. I can only see one so took it. I think it depends on what store will have it at $55, you just have to check out the stores.

    • Which store in Brisbane had it for $55? Garden city and oxley both told me $79

      • Queen st mall.

        • Thanks. I ended up calling around and Carindale were happy to sell it for $55

  • Called initially when they went off the site and put 3 away at $55. Called up to confirm, the lady said that I would get them at $55 as they were put away at that price. Partner is picking them up an an hour or so. Hopefully he doesn't have a fight.

    • They're refusing to honor it. Their cost price is $76 apparently.

      • You didn't order online and pay?

      • That's not very nice of JB. You have asked the staff to put 3 away for you and then later on you have called the staff to confirmed the price, but JB still don't want to honour the price. Pst pst. Yeah, may be you should have paid for them to avoid this hassle.

  • Did anyone get a screenshot of the $55 pricing that you can share as an image? Might try taking it to my local store.

  • Went to Canberra city jb,can get one for $55. However, in system it's $79.only sales guy knows it's $55 for today. Ask help from them.

  • gone..scanned as normal $79 now

  • Yep I went in at lunch and got $79 scanned up. I said I came in because I saw them on the website for $55 so he checked saw it wasn't showing and said someone stuffed up. He checked on the best price he could do and I got it for $59. SOLD. An extra $4 but I got a free coffee this morning so WIN!!!

    • Weird. I was told the best they could do was $76 and that was cost. :/

      • +3

Lies. Why would they sell for $79? $3 margin…

  • +4

Thanks OP, Got the last one from Jb hi-fi home, sydney CBD..guy at the counter said it was price error. I stared at him in disgust and got it for $55..

    • +5

Wow, how long did you stare down for? I am in awe!

      • +1

LOL did you also refuse to leave the shop and hold your breath til your face turned purple too?

      • +1

Heyyy…the queue was long and i was really disgusted at the price error BS…so the stare was instantaneous and short.

        Do not mess with OZBians.

        • So you were the one holding up the line!
Jokes - I'd do the same thing too!

  • could anyone successful in getting one at $55 from WA, please PM me your receipt? plss… thanks!

Just tried my luck at Enex 100 (perth). The first sales assistant I asked was very unhelpful and tried telling me that cause I'm getting a home mini at a discounted $55 she couldn't do anything. I told her the home mini is the standard price these days.

Anyways, took them both up to the counter and told them about a mate that got the ultra for $55 and another mate who got it for $59. She called a different sales assistant and walked out with it for $59

  • +2

Mentioned the $55 price this morning at local JB store. Salesman could see in system few being purchased at $55 this morning. Honoured $55 for purchase of 1 only, any more at full price. Bought one, happy customer :)

  • +1

Just went to the new Pitt St store in Sydney after work to try my luck. They didn't even have any on display with the normal ones (ticketed at $59 BTW)…couldn't be bothered asking if they were anywhere else and then having to potentially argue for it. I don't have the stare down "ability" of hasslefree :(

Can't really use it anyway. Ha

  • I had to work hard at the sales guy behind the counter but eventually got one for $55 at JB Macquarie Centre Sydney however one of the sales guys walking the floor knew about the $55 deal so I should have dragged him to the counter instead of fighting my own battle

  • Can someone upload a receipt as jb hifi said no to me. Hurry please. Thanks

    • +1

      How do you upload it???

      • My Account > View > Files

        Then post the link here.

      • Nice leg lol ;)

        • Is that a piss stain on your pants?
          Just kidding :p

      • Thanks man bought one showing receipt. But why u paid 59? I paid that too :p

        • +1

I told them the story about a "mate" getting it for $55 and they didn't seem too convinced. I said another "mate" went to a different jb chasing it for $55, but they told him the best they could do was $59. (Someone above posted they got it for $59 and he got a free coffee in the morning so a win for him)

They were happy to do it for $59

  • Still available for $55 at my local in VIC!

  • What's with all the pricing errors at JB of late?

  • Got one for $52.50 at Officeworks. Thanks OP

    • How the hell you manage to do that? They usually need to look at website price. And they mentioned can't match receipt price, as it might be one off deal

      • I just told them to call JB Hi-Fi to confirm. They didn't bother and just did the price match for me!

  • Just gonna try my luck again before committing to $59, anyone in WA manage to get it for $55?

    • Tried JB Hi Fi Joondalup Home as well as Lakeside around 7PM.

Told them what I saw this morning + the receipt (from the dude who bought it from Enex100 Perth). They just scanned it as $79 with their device. Told me it was actually the normal chromecast that's on special but when I showed them the receipt and highlighted that it was the Ultra, they scanned it again and said nope.

      • Same here… Prove here WA jb employees are just too tight ass.. Guess they can't afford to lose a job in this economy

  • Anyone with 55 jb hifi receipt upload pls :)

  • Just went down to Bourke st JB. Showed receipt for $59. Guy said yep, we can do $59, prints me a slip. Scans in at $55!!!

  • How do I post photo. I've saved to files

    • That was at 18:53

    • Thanks, used your image for OW price beat today!

      This is not Chromcast ULTRA..

    • +1

This is Chromecast 2 not the ultra … So no 4k support

    • +2

my bad; not the ultra. got confused on mobile browser.

  • +1

Managed to pick up the ultra at JB in Elizabeth Shopping centre for $55. Scanned as $79 but said it was $55 in the morning. Salesman honoured it. Thanks OP!

  • +1

Did some sweet talking at JB Prahran got for $55 even though scanning higher.

  • +1

Glad I got it with Click and Collect so it was all paid, invoiced, and good to go!
Can't be bothered price-matching with Officeworks, but good on those who held up and/or honoured the price.

  • Link broken… No stock ?

    • -2

link back again, shows $59 now~

  • +1

Fck those hippies at jb, won't even match its own receipt

  • +1

Don't know how you guys manage to get it price matched at ow. Apparently their policy is to only price match price they can see online.

    • Some people here are OZB Jedi's. One can only aspire to reach their greatness. :(

Or it is just luck of the draw in terms of getting a noob staff member!

  • Thanks OP, picked an ultra chromecast up! Had been waiting and pondering a few months whether to get the Ultra chromecast, and at this price I couldn't hold back. Especially after finding out that I can cast my chrome browser tabs to it.

    Merry xmas.

    • +1

      Merry xmas to u too m8 :)

  • Thanks OP - was a great deal, but I've just received an SMS from their couriers Toll, who inexplicably made no attempt to deliver at my home, but instead dropped off at their designated "Toll Collection Point" 20 minutes from my house.

    Weak.
