When a foreign site is supposed to accept AUD$ as payment, does paypal/bank still charges :
1) transaction fee, and
2) conversion fee?
I would assume the answers to both are NO, but can someone who has done this confirm?
I pay by my CommBank Amex and never pay any fee.
You probably will get charged a transaction fee by your provider at minimum unless you have a card that excludes international transaction fees (I have heard that AMEX don't charge for AUD transactions but not sure):
Note: Even though a merchant has a website address ending in ‘.com.au’ and displays prices in Australian dollars, they may still be located overseas or otherwise choose to process their credit card payments outside of Australia. It’s best to check with the merchant before you pay if you are unsure.
Thanks guys for the comments!
LightInTheBox? Well a rip off company. They took more than a month to send me my in-car phone charger, it was poorly packaged, arrived broken and wanted item to be sent back. Still dealing with Paypal to get my money back. Please keep away. I should have checked their bad reviews before giving them any business.
Will this work in my Nintendo Switch / Samsung Galaxy / Viofo dashcam / Atari 2600?
