I screwed up my Amex cashback - what should I do?

So I have three Amex cards (PtEdge, Explorer and Westpac Black) with no supp cards. I signed up for the Messina Spend $10 or more, get $5 back, up to 2 times deal for my PtEdge and Explorer, but forgot to do so for my Westpac before the sign up limit was reached. On Monday I bought $41.80 worth of delicious ice-cream (a 1.5L tub @ $29 and a 0.5L tub @ $12.80), and split my payments four-ways, except I screwed up and used my Westpac instead of my Explorer—hey, both cards are black and it was dark in the store. So, what do I do now?

    I thought I did a similar thing with Nandos. I spent the required $20 only to find the one I went to wasn’t on the list.
    Luckily, the cash came came through anyway,

    ACCC, Fair Trading, bikies? Post a long whinging post to their social media accounts? In store tantrum?
    Lots of options, but another tub of ice cream looks most attractive.

      Instructions unclear. Threw a tantrum in store, and ACCC sent social media whingeing bikies from Fair Trading against me. Also dick stuck in most attractive tub of ice cream. Please send help.

    Which Melbourne store was this at? Did they give you any flack for splitting payments?
    But yeah, there's no rectification apart from going back there and whipping out your Explorer, to give yourself some relief that you've got some cashback from AmEx.

      Windsor store, no issues at all. I got there around 8pm, so it was pretty busy with post-dinner crowd. First guy I spoke with was clearly overwhelmed by my request, so he grabbed another bloke (not sure if manager) who clearly understood what I wanted. I was really apologetic and grateful for holding him up, they only had three staff and it occurred to me that selling a half dozen or so cones would have been much more profitable than the time taken to serve me two tubs. Their POS system has a split payment function, so it automatically split my $41.80 payment into $10.45 lots.

        Ah thanks for that, I've been to the Windsor store before and yes it's just insanely busy all the time (at least the times that I chose to go visit)!
        Handy to know that there's a split payment option. I wanted to go and get a bunch of $10 gift vouchers, so I might get multiple ones and ask them to do split payment (or just pay for each separately). Hopefully I go at a less busy time :)
        Multiple cards, used twice each, damn that's a lot of Gelato Messina vouchers :)
