Bloody good game assuming the, er, remaster is a good one.

Yes, they did a great job remastering it. They even had the background music redone using the Melbourne Symphony orchestra.

"Making of" video about the remastering: https://youtu.be/JNhE7zxJymE

Also OP, how to actually get it? Clicking on "Get It Here" takes me to a list of games page.

      Banner on the main page

      • Thanks. This worked!

Yea same is happening to me.
Then if you search it in the games list, it's appearing as $15.34 ?

EDIT: Actually, it says it'll 'appear in your account soon' so maybe it's just a little delayed.
EDIT: Yeah, mine just appeared now about 15 minutes after I grabbed it.

    • Saw "War for the Overworld: Crucible" was free but it looks like I need to add money to my wallet to pay $0.00

      • Same issue here.

OMG! What a blast from the past. Now I'm feeling all nostalgic and will have to get my kids to play some old school classics during the school holidays.

What really blew my mind was to see a game I worked on in the 90's (Stargunner) being offered for free and now available on Linux and Mac. We only wrote it for Amiga and ported to PC.

nice, was just thinking about how zany games were from this time.

This game is bloody masterpiece. Still hopeful for a sequel.

They don't make games like this anymore. A damn classic.

I came here because of some quite guy with a badge in Blondebeards café.

Great game was probably the last great graphics adventure from LucasArts.

Still have my original big box version.

Finally. This has been on my Wishlist for a while, and I just always found another game to buy first.

One of the best games ever made, with an incredible storyline. Up there with Monkey Island and longest journey

Omg thank you OP! This was the only puzzle rpg I couldn't finish as a kid because my bootleg copy was corrupted.

  • Got this free on PSplus a little while back, played for a short time.
I did play it a long time ago on, maybe, the Amiga or an old console.

Thanks OP! Bought this for android as loved MI as a kid and never played GF but will get the chance now on the go and on PC!

    These were so well written!

  • How does gog give this game out for free?. Isn't it a lucasarts game. Does it cost gog anything?, Or is it factored in as a cost to advertising.

    • Rights to the game were acquired by Double Fine. Disney (who now own Lucasarts IP) weren't going to do anything with it, so it was free money for them.

I guess that GOG made a deal with Double Fine, so they can temporarily offer it for free. No idea what the deal was. Perhaps free advertising on future games?

    I love this game!

And I guess GoG's promotion worked as I went and bought a lot of other games on sale while I was logged in to get the freebie.

  • I have bought this game twice due to all the rave reviews, but never played it. Yes, the first time was a long while ago.

  • This is the greatest game of all-time in my opinion. The storytelling, writing and music is all top notch. I've played it so many times over the last 20 years.
