Looking for a tablet for a 80yo who can handle an iPhone.
Wanting it under $175. Android OS.
Ideally with a USB, but I imagine most use SD cards now. 10” please

Perhaps secondhand. Won't be able to get latest model or anything but possibly not needed. Depends what it will be used for.
You could try to get a microsoft surface second hand - they feature a full sized usb port which is a bit of a rarity for tablets. A few android tablets (my old samsung note 8.0) do support OTG adapters that plug into the micro usb and then allow for a full sized usb to connect.
I presume you’re going for android because you have some media files to share that they could play easily?

I think the limiting factor here is your price range doesn't allow for much in the 10 inch category, other than those cheap Chinese tablets that I wouldn't recommend…
As an entry level recommendation you could get the Lenovo Tab4 10 inch, currently $277 at officeworks,which is already way over budget, with 2gb ram 16gb storage but expandable with Micro SD. Current-ish Android 7 OS and average screen resolution at 1280 x 800. This really highlights the cost in this country for what you are after.

Prices for the above were much better around Xmas time, so waiting for sales might result in similar prices, eg

Currently ~$184 from gearbest.com but has been around $160 AUD a couple of times.

If they already use iOS, I would strongly suggest an iPad.
The difficulty in switching between devices can be really tricky for people who haven’t had long exposure to different operating systems.
Will be an issue with your budget, however.
