Was scouring webshops to grab a cheap-yet-good Gimbal, to use with my Note 8.

The Zhiyun Smooth Q 3- Axis Handheld Stabilized Gimbal for Smartphones checked all the right boxes for me.
Even when the Samsung Note 8 barely fits, this gimbal could (pretty much?) fit any other smartphone out there.

LITB was happy to accommodate my request for a great deal on the Smooth-Q, which has very good reviews all around.

Beats the earlier best price comfortably.

100 units allotted at this price; so need hurry.

    From what I learned, the Note 8 extends a trifle bit too long; can't be perfectly balanced. But once the rig is powered, it stabilises like with any other phone, even if the Note 8 still tilts right a bit. There was a video demonstrating this to be only a minor issue; can't find it ATM.

    Here is a reddit discussion on the matter.

    I personally wonder if an appropriate small weight can be added at the left end to balance the phone fully…
    Shouldn't be too difficult.

          Then maybe you used the conversion rate of Paypal. It's always higher than the bank conversion rate.

    I’ve owned both this and the dji Osmo and while this is very good for the price the Osmo is much more refined.

      Yes; Osmo costs almost twice.
      The beefy battery in the Zhiyun to act as a powerbank could be another clincher.

    bought one long time ago. still had not used it. cause wife keeps whinging that "it is embarrassing" (to hold this thing). when do you use this again? walk the 🐶 dog…please help me to convince her.

      Saw a gimbal being used by a parent at a school end of year concert. Great way to get smooth video when you have to hold a phone for 3-5min for your kid's musical performance.

      Would have been useful for the grandpa who was just holding the phone with his hands and he was shaky and all over the place.

      I think these gimbals will also work well in low light where you can remotely trigger your phone's camera shutter (for a photo) via voice commands or timer.

        From what I read, these gimbals have their corresponding smartphone apps, so the mounted phone's camera/video controls can be handled via the gimbal's thumb buttons (phone connects to gimbal via bluetooth) ; no need to twiddle with the phone while recording; etc.

        I agree one can be a bit self conscious- initially- using this thing.
        There are people who feel uncomfortable shooting video in public, even with just their phones- sans gimbals.

        So; it's just a matter of getting over the novelty of the experience. The self-consciousness will wear away.
        After the initial two-three times, they won't think twice of gimbal assisted public video shooting.
