Saw this deal on this website for a DJI Phantom 3 Pro 4K. It is unusually cheap, and was wondering if anyone here new if this was a legit offer. If so its a GREAT DEAL.

Thanks

  • What's the normal price?

    • Around $800 or so. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/dji-phantom-3-4k

Edit: Unless you mean the "regular" price on the deal site, in which case no idea. Sorry.

    • Posting up here for visibility - this was posted a month ago. Back then was USD$425 shipped - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/332106. Now, USD$399 shipped.

Check the comments - many people received theirs, some with dead batteries.

I almost bought one just now, but the cost, with shipping was up to AUD$520.

A new genuine 'intelligent battery' sells for AUD$259 on JBHifi. If not for the questionable battery, I would have bought this.

For that AUD$749, I'd rather wait for a deal on a tiny Spark Flymore combo, which suits my casual needs much more.

Per the website - doesn't mention the 4K camera & gimbal is included:

    Package Contents
    1 x Aircraft Body
    1 x Remote Controller
    4 x Propeller Pairs
    1 x Intelligent Flight Battery
    1 x Battery Charger
    1 x Power Cable
    1 x User Manual

"Stock in Oversea Warehouse Original Safe DJI Phantom 3 Professional Quadcopter Drone Autopilot with 3-Axis Stablization Gimbal 4K UHD Video 12 Megapixel Camera Live HD View" Implies that it is. Also the picture shown has the camera, and just says tablet not included.

Pretty sure these always come with the camera

      • Ah ok cool!

        • Agreed. I have this exact Drone. The shop would have to go to the effort to unscrew the camera and gimbal to not include it in the package.

Given it's in the title, you could bend these guys over easily if it came without one

      • No you couldn't. Being an overseas company they would probably just ignore your emails… Your best bet would be to pay with PayPal as they may be able to do a forced refund if it came to it.

Why the neg vote? Care to explain?

        • +1

@OzBargin: The listing says "This product only supports users from America, people from other countries should be careful to buy. Hoping for your kindly understanding!(This is the clearance product)!!" Last I checked this was Australia. Also there are a lot of discrepancies in the add that ring alarm bells.

        • @shamona1:
This is Australia. Do you need to check?
          Add should be ad
Where does Neg vote fit in to guidelines?

          Poorly worded description agree

        • -4

@OzBargin: this is ozbargain, don’t need a reason to neg. Negger is always right.

        • +2

@OzBargin: Defective product - based on reports from previous customers who've received batteries that are dead or nearly dead due to the age this product has been sitting in storage. Jeez didn't realize posting on OzBargain means you will be interrogated.

        • +1

@shamona1: People in general tend to make claims from ignorance. The failure to challenge claims is why the world is in the mess it is. People should question everything.

Yeah. I'm super keen to buy one but just feel like this might be a price mistake or a scam as such since the price is amazing (over 50% off)! I know they accept PayPal payments but I'm just hesitant risking ~$500.

        • FYI, same seller was posted a month ago - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/332106. A number of commenters came back to say that they'd received their items, one even with photos. Some did have dead batteries though.

        • Mine works fine, very happy with it for the price, no problems with it all, have had some great fun with it so far.

        • @Wolfy: Awesome. Thanks for sharing. I'm keen to get mine!

Hmmm…this or the Xiaomi 4K Drone?

    • +2

The standard 3 is definitely not as good a deal as the Xiaomi, but this pro is pretty decent.

    • I am using Xiaomi 4k…and happy with that… the battery is about $100

      • Yeah, I'd been tempted by the Xiaomi 4k recently. I watched a Youtube comparison last night that showed just how favourably it compared with the DJI Phantom Standard 3. I only picked this one up because it was the higher spec Pro model.

    Deleted.

Use coupon code "CICWEBFE" to save a few bucks more.

    • Gah! I'm so conflicted. I just bought one, thanks to this code.

I hope the battery works. If it doesn't I'll buy a new one at the best price I can find.

I don't really need a drone, but would love to play with one. Happy to get a high quality (if large) one with this deal, play with it a few times, then offload it on ebay.

      • Update: Please be aware though we may lose the cashback when applying this code, as the code was not provided by TopCashback:

"Terms & Conditions and other useful information
What could stop me from getting cash back?
Using a promotional/coupon code not posted and approved by TopCashback."

        • Thanks. I'm not even sure what that means (I use Cashrewards, and I don't think I used it here.

          Thanks again for the code.

They have battery for $164 or you can try and find a Officeworks store that has stock at $150

  • Seems cheap , they go for a lot more on ebay used even

  • already posted above. scrap this.

  • Does it matter that it says America stock only and other buyers from other countries should be careful?

  • +1

Great … i posted it to see if it was legit and and now its sold out

    • +1

The similar deal from this seller a month or two ago only had 20 drones in stock, so I'm not that surprised.

    • Turns out that they won't ship outside of USA, so you would have been disappointed anyway :/

  • Bought one last time - great deal, quick delivery. They emailed me an invoice after requesting. Good job rep all round

    • Also, has anyone found a good backpack/bag for theirs?

  • Made an order on 5 Dec and today I received:

    "dear customer,

we do not have the product in stock in our AU warehouse and we only have it in our American warehouse. and we will cancel the order and apply for a refund.

    Amber"

    • Yeah I got the same. Too good to be true this time…

      • I ordered on the same day. They still haven't sent me any email, so I've emailed them so that I can commence the PayPal reversal process. :/

    • I emailed them saying that I was waiting for my order, and that I was happy to pay the additonal DHL charges for international shipping (in case that was their concern). They responded with an email saying simply:

      dear customer,
we do not have it in stock and we will cancel the order and apply for a refund for you.
      Amber

It took them a week to get back to us to cancel our orders. How long before they get around to processing those refunds?!

      • Got my refund from them by reporting the issue to PayPal as coolicool's email showed no interest in issuing any refund quickly.

        • Thanks. Yeah I had to raise a dispute to get my refund too. Better luck next time for us eh?

  • So did anyone actually get it???
