I don't think DM sells this whisky.

Just FYI to any whisky drinkers, this Kamitaka brand is a rebrand of the White Oak brand. Typical supermarket brand blended whisky in Japan which sells for $10-$20.
It's better than JW Red, but don't expect anything spectacular just because it's "Japanese Whisky"
I agree with your statement. But in general, Japanese whiskeys are sold "much" cheaper in Japan than in Australia. All thanks to our liquor tax and huge price mark-up by the seller.
White Oak is just the name of the distillery at Eigashima. An yes the "white Oak" blend sold at super markets is produced there as well as the Kamitaka blend. However I haven't read any confirmation that they're the same whisky. The same distillery also produces some interesing and relatively well regarded expressions too (under the Akashi label, for example).
will this be the same at the dockland branch?
