How is this different to the K800D I have?
Its actually worse if you have the 43 inch 800D. If you have the 49 inch then it's the same. This has a IPS panel 800D has a VA panel. VA has much better contrast, brightness, colour gammat and screen uniformity.
Thanks, I picked up the 43" in the click frenzy a while ago. Far from impressed with it so far.
Would it be worth waiting for the 55" to come down in price? Have a fairly new Sony 48" from an ozbargain deal 2/3 years ago, wanting to get a 4k upgrade a bit larger.. But $1000 off the 49 very tempting
Wait for the Sony X9000E to come down in price. It's got full array backlight with local dimming. All of these TV's are edgelit. Makes a huge difference to black levels, no light bleeding and blooming, plus the wide colour gammat with high brightness so you can actually see a huge difference with HDR. It's basically the TV of the year considering price, features and picture quality. Won't be disappointed!!
That one is 20% off at Bing Lee ebay but they won't post it to my postcode!
They'll have deals on it throughout December. Hopefully Amazon Australia will have it too so there will be cheaper prices between everyone
Reckon 6 inches off is worth saving $200 off for a desktop monitor-ish setup
