      They are a different sized unit - Ie - the Iphone wont fit in the ipod/i touch cradle.

    Still overpriced for the Iphone kit. Doesnt come with software - it is just a cradle with a gps unit in it. The iphone needs software etc to work - which is another $89. Cheaper to buy a complete Tomtom unit.

      Its more than a cradle.

      It has a charger, low level audio out, a GPS repeater in it (for a stronger signal) a speaker AND bluetooth.

      If you have an iphone 3, 3G, 3GS or 4 - and need a charger and cradle and the occasional use of the inboard maps - it is perfect!!

      But - each to their own.

    WARNING: Refurbished GPS units do NOT come with latest map guarantee. So, if the unit comes with a 2007 or 2008 map, be prepare to spend more money to get a map upgrade (or stuck with an outdated map).

    Refurbished GPS units may not come with a new battery.

    Please make sure you are okay with both.

      This is 100% false.

      If you buy a TOMTOM product form us - we guarantee that they will have a 2010 map.

      As we are an authorised seller for TOMTOM i can assure you that we stand by the product, inc battery life. These are tested / and replaced if needed during the refurb process and have to meet strict criteria before being released.

      It is very different if you buy a grey import / parallel import or one from eBay (unless it is us - we are the ONLY authorised sellers on ebay for TOMTOM)

    I bought a refurb go930, it came with maps from 2006, took endless calls to Tomtom support who are completely clueless, in the end I had to resort to online forums to solve multiple issues, took about a month and several trips to the repair centre in Regents Park before it worked. Dont buy if you value you sanity.

      Agree. Once TomTom support found out your unit is a refurbished model, you get really bad service (or virtually no service).

      Refurbished quite often means repaired. When I had my hard drive repaired (I won't name the brand here), I received a refurbished hard drive back. That drive only lasted 5 months (and was very noisy since day 1). I just could not be bothered posting the drive again to get another replacement.

      There are a few horror stories about refurbished items (including TomTom ones).

      Also, running a very old map with the latest firmware could sometimes means certain features are not available / disabled / missing. Unless you are really saving heaps, it is really not worth getting refurbished units. Could be quite risky.

        Yes, I agree, Tomtom support do treat you like a second class citizen when they find out you bought a refurb. The GO930 that I bought for example, did not have voice recognition working, tomtom support told me I had to buy latest map for it to work. I did buy the latest map, but they still couldnt get it to work. Google helped me with that. Unfortunately, the next map killed it again. All support could come up again was to format the unit (for the 5th time). Found out from tomtom forums that all that was needed was a missing file with just one line of text in it, thats easily created with notepad.
        Why do we see so many refurb tomtoms on the market but not so many of other brands?

      ANY products sold by us are 100% AU stock , and we have a contract for the rights to sell these online.

      TOMTOM support will treat you the SAME as any other customer if you have an invoice from us.

      Saying the above- they are NOT obliged (but do so reluctantly) to support any grey imports OR ebay sales - which is where your particular issues may lie.

      As an aside - the Go930 was only released in AU in June 2008 - dont know how yours came with 2006 maps……

    The TomTom ONE XL is the older slower model. (32 MB ram & 266 MHz cpu) only uses SD memory cards for storage. It does not have all the features of the newer models using the official software version. I would not recommend this as I have used one in the past and there are much better GPS units available these days with more ram & faster speeds for this price.

    I would not touch refurbished TOMTOM again! The one I bought can't be reseted, and it still have all the previours owner's info(including name, address, all contacts) and password. I have to call the person asking her password to start my device. And I believe the one I bought is a faulty one, it takes 3 minutes or even more to get the signal, and the battery runs out after one week withoug using it. As I was new to GPS, I didn't know that is abnormal. After I realise that, it is out of warranty(3 months).

      when i was looking for one and comparing them all, i found the TomTom to have the best interface.

      I was particularly looking for one that was intuitive so that non techie's can use it (ie. my wife)…

      Whatever you get, just make sure it's a wide screen version, ie. 4.3 or 5 inch (3.5 inch is too small)

    Regarding the TomTom iPhone 4 iPhone 3G/3GS Bluetooth Car Kit for $84, i thought that cradle/car kit for 3G/3GS is not a perfect fit for iPhone 4. I'm assuming some tweaking is required for the cradle you are selling as well, right?

    How long has it taken for delivery? I got an email that my item was shipped 5 days ago, but still haven't received the item and they did not supply a tracking number???

        our concierge "forgot" to let me know and was very embarrassed when i asked…

        The Unit looks really good, it looks brand new… (Hope it works as well as it looks)…

        It would be useful if you send tracking numbers with the order confirmations though, that way we would know they have arrived without need to contact you…

          It really depends on the shipping method used and where you live.

          We have found - that believe it or not - that we have shipped items - and they have been delivered BEFORE a tracking number has been updated….

          When this happens (imagine this - you (us) have sent me (customer) a tracking number and I checked it on Monday (and there is NO result) - you told me (via email) that it was shipped on Friday - You Lied - or numerous versions of that.

          We prefer - as in your case - for you to contact us - then we can instigate any follow up on your behalf - quickly - and can get back to you (our Customer) with a result - rather than an email.
