its actually cheap for a Heat pump dryer… we have a hoover one and they are brilliant specially for a family of 5 loll

In all fairness thats some filthy fkn humour

Someone a few comments down is recommending a Siemens dryer instead… and I think they're serious!

    • hahaha Such filth!

    • +2

      You must have amazing skin

  • +4

Any Heat Pumped Dryer <$1000 is a bargain.

  • +1

Which country or brand manufactured smeg dryer?

    • +1

      Hi Terrence, Smeg is Italian

      • -1

Hi just sent you homeclearance a private message thanks

      • +2

Yeah and Electrolux is Swedish, F&P is Kiwi (well now owned by Chinese) etc… Doesn't mean the manufacturers build all their stuff in their home country. By the looks of things the SAHP7 is made in Turkey.

    • Last time I saw a Smeg washing machine in a showroom and it says made in Turkey, not sure about their dryers though.

  • +1

Great deal. I use a siemens heat pump dryer. It's fking great. Wouldn't go back to vented. Worth the 2k I spent. At the time (a few months back) most were over $1500 so I went to a top model. We had a huge problem with mould from the vented dryer. Experts said venting system would help but may not fix. Was gonna cost about the same as a heat pump dryer to install venting so went for new dryer. Seems to dry as quick if not quicker. Nice to use so little power when drying a load. Environment yhumbs up to I'm lead to believe. Also much gentler on clothes.

    • +5

      Smeg or Siemens… hard choice.

      • +5

        "…hard…" 😳

    • How long does an average load take?

I was looking at heat pump driers but I heard that due to the lower heat produced, loads would take much longer to dry, in most cases 3 hours where an electrical resistive model would take an hour for the same load.

  • Boooo NSW only.. 😕

Anyone in VIC likely to price match?

    • +1

Give Appliances Online a call on 1300 000 500 to see if they'd match.

      • I'll be interested in this if they're willing to price match. If anyone tries and succeeds, please post back :)

        • +2

I did. They knew what i'm talking about straight away.
Unfortunately, they won't match it, reason: it's a run out and only 15 left. (don't know how they get that number)

        • @BlackCaviar2016: thanks for trying mate and reporting back.

        • @Kenb0: no worries, they advised me to jump on it straight away before it's out of stock!

        • @BlackCaviar2016: if they would deliver to VIC, I would be all over it like a rash :)

      • Tried, typical price match BS;
"It's damaged stock" - wrong product buddy..
"It's a commercial model" - no, it's an identical model..
        "I'll ask my supervisor.."

Siiigh. Well played NSW. WELL PLAYED.

        • What did the supervisor say? It says brand new and it's an identical model..

        • @doweyy:My bad, wrong order - supervisor said it was commercial model. Essentially he wasn't going to but wouldn't admit it….

        • @ryang:

Damn that sucks.. They're usually fairly helpful but I guess this one was a long stretch cause it's NSW only and runout.. My bad.

        • +2

Home Clearances and Appliances Online are both part of the Winning Group.

        • @doweyy: i think if it's just $100-200 difference they may do it, but this is more than half price!

        • @jkt: For real?? Hnnnnnggghh.. Why no price match then?

        • @jkt: Well spotted sir…

Rather annoyed by this bargain now. Haven't bought from Appliances Online before and it's going to leave a sour taste for a while.

      • I think Appliances online and home clearance are the same company, their website says they are the clearance outlet for appliances online.

      • My call to Appliances Online resulted in something similar. If you hover over the "Brand New Runout" icon on the Home Clearance website, it states "could be scratched or dented in areas…" so they claim cannot be price matched - must be brand new in box, no damage.

  • -4

too much to pay for a dryer

    • +2

No it isn't. This is insanely cheap for a heat pump dryer and especially so for a 'premium' brand. Regular vented dryers (the type you're probably thinking of) aren't as energy efficient.

  • +5

OP how about a delivery deal for Melbourne on this pretty please

  • Brilliant price! Anyone looking to replace their vented dryers should jump on this

  • The only time when NSW is greater than QLD.

    • +1

Is a dryer necessary in QLD

      • We get a lot of rainy days & humidity, sadly.

  • -1

Will buying this dryer give me a Smug look on my face?

    • It'll more likely get you Smeg on your face

  • +1

Argh I would love this delivered to Queensland

  • I love me a bit of smeg

    • metro NSW only
  • +1

It may also be of interest that they have the Midea MDHP07 7kg Heat Pump Dryer for $501

    https://homeclearance.com.au/p/midea-mdhp07-7kg-heat-pump-dr…

    • This looks like a steal, why is no one talking about this?

  • Was just about to call wife for purchase approval (you know…) and realised it's NSW only :( don't suppose you could include brisbane?

Also, does anyone have any current numbers on roughly how much money is saved in running costs compared to cheapie 1.5 star vented dryer?

    • My wife and I have never had a dryer of any sort, and with one toddler and another baby on the way we grabbed a Siemens heat pump about 4 months ago to deal with the increased washing. Comparing electricity consumption from 12 months ago it actually looks like we are using slightly less, and we are averaging at least 1 big load every day. Bills haven't changed at all. We tend to wash towels and sheets more often now since we can have them dry on the same day. It doesn't even get lukewarm when we're using it so we put it in a storage area under the house, but the downside is we couldn't plumb it in so we have to empty the water reservoir each time.

  • hopefully Binglee will have something comparable tomorrow

  • 6 star energy rating

Based on what kind of wash, how many times a week?

    Cheers

    • wash?

      • Oh dear, I meant load!

    • Washing is not included….

    • Energy ratings are worthless in any case because the industry had a part in writing them and the testing procedure has been gamed.

  • why only NSW, homeclearance!! :(

  • Just recently bought a heat pump dryer myself. Made it stack up due to the projected energy savings - they use about 40%-50% less energy and in 5 years (we use it 2-3 times a week) you have made your money back over a vented one. Also saves need for installing proper venting to ensure you don’t get mould in the house.

    • I have a small child and live in an apartment with limited drying space; ours gets used daily. I'd never heard of a heat pump dryer, clearly something to look into (if only they delivered to VIC).

      • ya, would probably sold out by now if they do delivery in other states.

  • I'd be hesitant to buy anything from Home Clearance if they're anything like their eBay counterparts. I purchased an item that was supposed to be delivered 3 weeks ago and they haven't responded to me and going by the negative feedback on their eBay page (I haven't posted a review yet) a few other people share my experience.

    • +1

I bought a freezer about 12 months ago from Home Clearances website and have nothing bad to say about them. They actually didn't have the one I ordered in stock but they did me a better deal on the larger size to make up for it. Top notch communication

    • +1

I've had a good experience with them and this is a CRACKER price for a heat pump dryer.

      • +1

I agree it's a really good price. It's the seller I have issue with. The item I purchased was a really good price too. Unfortunately, I've been unlucky and haven't received the item despite being marked as posted a month ago. Home Clearance haven't responded to my messages and it going by their feedback on eBay the same thing has happened to other people as well.

Could you let me know your order number, or any other details such as your name that allow me to pull up your order? I will look into this personally for you to figure out what went on - we pride ourselves on our ability to provide an amazing overall shopping experience and so I want to figure out what happened and what went wrong.

Could you let me know more details about your order?

      • PM'd

        • +2

Home Clearance rang to apologise and explain a system fault had caused the issue. They organised for my item to be delivered today and I've just received it.

It's been a pretty amazing turnaround.

          Thanks to everyone involved.

        • @reidy: Good result. Plus-voting because Associated OP took affirmative action in your matter.

  • +1

Thanks OP! Perfect timing! For the record, ACT is included as well as NSW residents.

  • Hey OP, any washing machine deals?

  • +1

cant i just get one the same but cheaper from amazon tomorrow?

  • +1

Out of stock! :-( anymore more coming at this price?

  • +2

I just bought one off eBay Home clearance page for $747.65 after eBay 5% discount 😂😂

    • +1

      There's still one more left

      • thank you @SandeepV. I have managed to get the last one from eBay for $747.65. Winning !!!!

  • Got a call to say they sold more than what they had in stock and they wanted to cancel the order and offer a refund and $100 store voucher. Not so happy, but in the other hand I did not have a dryer in yesterday evening and don's have one now. So it is not going to make a difference.
