  • Good deal, was going to get it from overseas but this is only a few dollars more and I get it alot quicker then the usual 2-3 week wait :)

  • is $487 bundle for the game and 320gb still the best deal out there?

  • Too bad the collectors edition don't ever go on sale. :( I want my cars.

  • where is this said bundle for $487?

  • Thanks dude, will go order my copy today at lunch :) Will be hard to beat this price!

  • Be interesting to see what the launch price at JBHifi/Kmart/BigW will be now… they don't usually like to be beaten in price. Maybe $74?

  • +2

For those of you who are happy to wait a couple of weeks, you can actually get it for about $55 delivered from DVD.co.uk.

  • this is a good price for the standard edition but should I pay extra $51.00 to get the limited edition??? I can almost buy another game for $51.00

  • anyone know if ebgames will price match? got a gift card to use there, and their prices just suck.

    • They've done it in the past - not sure about nowadays as I no longer buy games from them.

    • +2

Yes I believe they do. Be careful if you are price matching when pre-ordering with EB to gain a pre-order bonus. I got them to price match when I pre-ordered Red Dead Redemption, and was assured I would get the bonus downloadable content. When it came the day to pick up the game, I dealt with a different staff member (ended up being the manager) and they said they don't honour the bonus when price matching. I was not impressed!

      • yeah EB sucks now…all their games are over priced.

        • +5

yeah they will sell a game for 109, buy it back for $40 then put it on the shelf pre-owned for 108.95.

eb wont price match good games like this. they only do it for crap games. they give no extra discount and they are never easy to deal with. why would anyone go to eb or game for a price match when another retailer is offering it for the low price.

        • I still take advantage of their 7 day full refund policy.
So you could just buy it from EB while your wait for it to arrive from UK lol

    • Depends on the store you go to as to how easy it is to get things price matched. My local one usually accepts a printed copy of a catalog or advertisement.

Official policy is for them to ring the store, confirm the price, and that the store has the game in stock.

Refusing to price match because the other store doesn't have stock is a bit ridiculous… Half the time if it is in stock at the place that is doing a good deal, you would just go buy it there no?

      • they outright refuse and said "no we wont match that price"(i.e black ops for $80 at kmart, starcraft 2 for $70 at dick smith) i dunno how theyre allowed to offer the deal then pick and chose when they want to apply it.

      • Not ridiculous at all. Some retailers (namely Big W, Kmart) have crazy low prices while purposely not ordering nearly enough stock to cover demand. The low prices are just an attempt to get you in store and hopefully buy a more high-margin item.

You're right, if it's in stock you'll buy there, if it's not you'll look for a pricematch. So if you're looking for a pricematch, why would another retailer voluntarily cut their GP just because of other retailers sneaky tactics?

        • thats why they set their conditions. must be in stock, same edition and some even state in the same shopping centre. these are all reasonable parameters which are set to protect themselves while still honoring their deal. My problem is when they choose not to honour their deal even though all of these condtions are met

Anyone know how much the 3D version of the game will be?

  • +2

I'd think that Big W or JB will undercut everyone on this game when the time comes.

  • I wish i didn't buy it from ozgameshop now… I'll probs save maybe $10 but have to wait like 3 wks to play it… so lame

    • Is it possible to cancel pre-orders with ozgameshop? I know you can with play asia.

  • I got the Collector's edition for $114 delivered from http://www.mightyape.com.au/product/PS3/Gran-Turismo-5-Colle…

Plus you get some extra bonuses. Not sure if this can be bought locally cheaper?

im expecting this game to BOMB after all that waiting :D

      • +1

bloody hell that's some briliant graphics

        • man after watching some vids
i can't bloody wait till the 25th comes round so i can pick up my copy
and then i can't wait till the 1/12 when my exams finish…. man this is torture

    • I'm pretty sure they've sold a ridiculous amount already. Be interested to see final figures a day or two before release.

  • jb will change their RRP to this OR lower.

    they don't like being undercut

  • Is $77 online purchase price only? or can you walk in to a store and buy it for the same price?

    • This is in store price, don't think you can order online as it's not avail to the 25th.

  • At least EB give you price match. I traded my COD for 78 dollars and want to use it on the BLACK OP.
When I went to GAME they dont do price match on BLACK OP ONLY!!!!
The reason I get from the store manager is they been told by headquarter not to price match because is under their wholesale price. (which is bs)
I asked him is there a document from the GAME headquarter he can't provide it.

So I end up getting EB price match it with Target (79 dollars) and I still have 78 dollars store credit in GAME.

    • Well if it's not under wholesale it's getting pretty damn close. It's great for us that the big chains use these high-profile releases as loss-leaders, but it's really tough on the game only stores.
GAME and EBGames don't sell white goods (where the HUGE mark-ups are) and rely on game trade-ins and the retail margin to stay alive. I can totally understand them not wanting to lose money on these games, but at the same time I find it hard to justify to myself why I'd spend an extra $20 there.
I'm probably shooting myself in the foot though because GAME and EBGames care a lot more about gamers than HN does.

  • The ! TRADE 3 FOR FREE ! Deal is back on for GT5 at JB hifi at the moment.

  • not much of a racing fan but you can get it for $65 from zavvi.com/ozgameshop.com/play-asia.com
