very good price. too bad i don't have a blu ray player

  • +3

Probably a mistake, knowing Amazon and their very cheap prices. But hey, might as well try anyway. Hooray~
At least if it is false, at least I noticed that Professor Layton on Blu-Ray is available now :P

    • lol imagine if it was released on blu-ray…all that cartoon colour in HD!!

      • It is released on Blu-Ray! Totally ordered it with Harry Potter, so at least I'll get something awesome by the end of this!

    • +2

It's not a mistake, got promo email from Amazon.

  • Can amazon UK deliver to Australia ?

    • +1

Yes, its never taken more than 10 business days to arrive for me

  • Thanks, just ordered… though I do wonder if it was a mistake (Amazon don't usually go through with price mistakes)

    • mine was just accepted and is ready to be dispatched, so im guessing not a mistake

    • +6

It's not a mistake, HMV in the UK have the same Blu-Rays at the same price.

      http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=-1;12;-1;…

So yep, 7 blu-rays for a bargain price.

PS this deal garnered a temp of 2745° on HotUKDeals (the UK bigger version of OzBargain), therefore there's always the chance that they will run out or stop the deal early. Don't hang about.

      • 6 right? Or is another split like the last 1?

        • The sixth movie has 2 discs (1 for special features)

      • Did say to get your orders in quickly.

HMV stopped their deal, and so Amazon stopped their price match.

  • its in uk amazone?? how we can get delivered it to australia,, this is an australian bargain site..not for uk people i think

    • +3

Both Amazon UK and USA ship to Australia, so it is a bargain for us

      • +7

Though the shipping rates at Amazon UK to Australia are reasonable, while those at Amazon US are criminal.

        • ..and the shipping times are generally terrible from Amazon US

        • +3

Not just on Amazon. The shipping rates from the US to Aus in general are criminal.

        • The Shipping rates from Australia to any International Destination is even more Criminal.

        • What are you shipping out of here? Coal?

  • +1

    Hopefully there's no mistake =D

    • Mine has gone through checkout stage and it in the 'soon to be dispatched' stage and they are advertising it, so i doubt its a mistake

  • how much for the shipping??

    • $31-$32 Delievered (includes shipping)

    • +2

      Standard (8-12 business days) 3.68GBP
Priority Express (2-4 business days) 23.78GBP

      • shipping prices are indeed as above :)

  • +1

For the professional pedantics (like me), it seems to be a waste to get a box set of the first 6, and then have to get the 7th separate.

    • +2

Take them out of the box then… Your gonna be waiting a while for the last two movies for come out on Blu-ray

  • +4

now we need a bargain on a good bluray player lol

  • +1

BASTARDS!! I got my box set, exactly the same item (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/32367) 2 weeks ago. For 7GBP more.. Oh well, I'll have to + this then I suppose. :P

Edit: Oh, and if anyone has any questions about the box set, feel free to ask. Should be able to clear anything up.

    • -2

Are they moviefilms any less terrible on BluRay than they were in cinema?

      =P

    • does it have room for the last couple of movies? (i know the AUS version left room)

      • Nope… The only real down side IMO.

3 bluray cases, 2 discs per case for the first 4 years (1&2,3&4), 3 discs in the last case (5&6 - 6 has 2 discs for some reason, haven't watched it yet)

    • Same boat! Got it for 24GBP months ago. Just watched no 1 yesterday! The upscaling on no 1 is not as good as I expected.

  • I know Blu-Ray's fine on Australian players, but are DVDs as well? Just looking at some of the UK's Blu-Ray/DVD combos, and have heard about region issues.

    • UK dvd will not work on OZ region 4 player, unless you got ragion free one.

    • For DVDs Uk are region 2, we are region 4, so you'll need a multi-region DVD Player (nearly all are these days though)

    • unless the dvd specifically states that it is 'region-free' then it will be unplayable unless you have a multi-region dvd player. Australia is in region code 4 with Mexico, Central America, South America, New Zealand & Oceania. Whilst the UK is in region 2. (looks like i was too slow to reply)

    • Cheers all. Might be time to upgrade the ol' Tevion DVD player :P

      • in most recent players though region lock and be un"locked". Google your model number + region free and you will get a answer. Worked on my 5 years old Phillips!

  • meh… rather wait out for the whole entire set

  • -1

What is the mean years 1-6?

    • +5

      The first 6 movies

      • Yep each movie covers 1 year at Hogwart's

  • +3

Ordered a set. At $5 a bluray DVD, they're practically throwing them away.

  • Just ordered as well, thanks. :)

  • What a bargain! Thanks!! :)

  • wow so cheap, i've been looking for these movies. purchased !!

  • Umm, why is my order not in my Orders anymore? I have the Auto confirmed e-mail. But it's not coming up in my orders anymore?!

    • I just checked my order. Mine is still there and says:
"We are preparing these items for dispatch and this portion of your order cannot be cancelled or changed." I was able to cancel/edit my order about an hour ago. However, it has now been replaced with the above statement.

Phew. I ordered mine about 1.5hrs ago incase you're wondering. Hope your issue is resolved.

    • Lol that wat happened with the last price error…I just ordered a couple of these as Xmas presents and they show up in my account, hope it goes through

      • The money has been withdrawn from my account. So it should be going through.
And as said above, the UK HMV site has it for the same price.

        • HMV dont remove VAT though

  • I've had the money taken from my CC but it's just gone? This isn't a pricing error because they had the LOTRO set a while ago for the same price, they're just clearing stock.

  • Hmm that's weird, You can login with a bogus password, and it doesn't show up your orders, I signed in with my correct password, and my order is now there, along with my Credit Card details? (When I logged in with the wrong password it said I hadn't saved any billing information.)

  • Can anyone comment on whether this will work on an Australian SONY PS3?

    • +3

      Yes it will, no problems

  • just received a confirmation from amazon that my order has dispatched … so quick :D

  • Ordered one. Thanks.

  • thx for the heads up

  • Nice one!

  • Cheers man - Rad bargain and great present for christmas!

  • I already have on DVD, but 6 movies for $31 is a damn good price…. just ordered 2 and confirmed, thanks!
One for me, and one for Xmas present!

  • +2

    Your Amazon.co.uk order has dispatched

    Wooot! :D

  • I am not a big fan of Harry Potter, but just got it for the price….

    • lol, i think alot of ppl are doing the same, you can't really go wrong for this price though

    • Yeah 5th and 6th are not worth watching, but this is still a bargain if not more for the first four, cheaper than anything in Oz. BTW is The LOTR set still at this price?

      • yeh it is

      • It is, but it's still only the cinema version (not extended edition) so I reckon it's worth holding back if you already have the films on DVD.

  • Fudging hell, they flippin' changed the price!

    • Whooooa… This could get interesting!!

    • situation normal for me..I had it in my basket before the price had changed, so no hard feelings Amazon…UNLESS?

  • Don't know if there's a problem with the site but the price seems to have gone up by 7 GPB in the last few minutes…

    • yeah, oh well, guess we missed out then… :(

      • Not too fussed, was going to wait for the full box set anyway. But I clicked on it when it was $17.99, went to my shopping cart and it was $24.99… Wish I could run my business like that.

    • Yes. I saw it too right after I put into the basket and noticed the price was different

  • Deal is finished? Total is back to $42.65 AUD

  • Missed out too on the good price I wonder if it will come down again

  • If only I had a blue-ray player.

  • I stalk this site all the time but seemingly missed this one!

  • Oh wow… I ordered around 40 minutes ago, so must have just got it in time.

  • HOW DID I MISS THIS!? :O

  • +1

OK, I had it in my cart and was gonna wait till tomorrow, but as I saw the deal was over I had to jump on it. Thanks OP :)

    • +1

      thats dvd

      • My bad.

I'd ordered the Blu-Ray set earlier and didn't notice the subtle difference in offerings.

    • Yep, thats the DVD version, not the Blu Ray version.

      Blu Ray offer is done.

  • yep just tried it, it's back on sale at AUD$32 delivered in case anyone's still interested!

    • where? link?

      • sorry bud, turns out it was the dvd version :-(

  • DVD is the only one at this price now.

Blueray is now more expensive…. but still pretty cheap.

  • Already dispatched! But is 3 weeks delivery time normal? I don't live rural or anything but it says the 6th dec as delivery date…

    • I find they give you blown out delivery times just to cover their ass. You should receive it in a few days.

      • not always.

and probably now that xmas season is in.

even last month, i had to wait 3wks for an amazon parcel.

some things i haven't even received yet from more than 3wks ago.

        • Maybe it depends on the area you live in. Me personally, I have always received items earlier than they estimated.

        • But 3 weekes ago there was a backlog due to the grounding of 2 A380 fleets, and extra security measures being taken place due to the bombs found on planes

    • Normally it shouldn't take more than about 6-7 working days, they always give a much longer expected date, but it has never taken near that time

      • Glad I got in last night. It's saying 6th of Dec for me aswell and only dispatched this morning. Don't think it will be that long.
