Stupidly small seek/skip/pause buttons, just like the brand-name radios.

Why do they do that? People must have died as a result of drivers taking their eyes off the road too long to find the tiny buttons.

These are cheaper on eBay from Aussie sellers if you don’t want to wait.
However I recommend you don’t purchase one.

I tried one back a few months ago, mainly for the Bluetooth call function. It was unusable in that the other person could not hear unless I shouted at the top of my lungs.

Sound quality was crap and the radio reception was poor, even in Sydney. Ended up binning it and putting the stock 2003 radio back in.

The reason you had to yell was that the microphone is designed for the person speaking to be on the left of the radio (European) and so the sound directionality is that way - best idea is to get a separate microphone unit that can be put on the drivers side. Or to contact AutoXtreme and have a Parrot kit put in - these can be integrated into most cars stereos (I have a unit in both of my cars)

Even talking directly in front of the mic, its very ordinary. I tested all that.
This unit doesn't accept external mics, so I was outta luck.

I reverted back to my visor BT handsfree.

        • Can I still suggest that controls are all on the remote, which can be attached within easy arms reach, and the phone can be in the glovebox - no risk of a fine.

        • @Sainter Dad:

          Ooops - edit:
Can I still suggest that you get a Parrot - the controls are all on the remote ….

    crappy item. stay away

  • bought this back in march for A$22.60 delivered from aliexpress + A$7.20 cashback from topcashback, so brought it down to A$15.40.
worked pretty well, but ive sold it for A$15 on gumtree when i bought another car with a bluetooth stereo already installed.

some issues did pop up, but i just basically follow this instruction for the remedies: https://forum.banggood.com/forum-topic-206128.html

  • a DAB+ radio would be appealing. but they seem to cost sooo much more.

  • I've got one. For the money, fine. The hands free is useless, the aux input sounds muddy. The Bluetooth for music is fine though, and for 25 dollars, it's good enough. Spend more to get more…
