  • Doesn't appear to be any better than the (free) MS Security…
    https://www.howtogeek.com/225385/what’s-the-best-antivirus-for-windows-10-is-windows-defender-good-enough/

    • It depends on how you look at it. If you want the bare minimum stick with Microsoft. If you want a higher quality security product that consistently outperforms Microsoft in independent testing (see AV Comparatives, AV-Test, VB100 etc.) $47.96 is probably worth it.

  • -1

I installed a 6 month free trial of this. Deleted after 2 months.
It doesn't do all that much except say unhelpful things that Microsoft already tells me like "new device connected" or "not enough storage available" or "install windows 10 update"
In addition, ESET internet security was always requiring 'attention'

    • Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with ESET. If you like you could download another trial at www.esetfreetrial.com.au then call 1300 88 3456 and we can help you tweak the settings to reduce pop ups.

It's also worth noting that an out of date operating system is potentially a serious vulnerability so be sure to keep Windows up to date.

Lol it wasn't even an important update just some cumulative one that gets released every 2 weeks.
Your antivirus should protect against "older" (2 weeks old!) versions of windows 10 anyway.

  • the bank protection never works. it used to but not anymore.

    • Hi Pikaloo give our support team a call on 1300 68 48 98 or email [email protected] and we can help solve this issue for you.

  • Can't remember where, but I renewed my 3+3 Multi-device license for $60AUD.. I wouldn't have if I had to renew using ESETs RRP including their renewal discount, or the $200 tag on the 3 device License on this page… or 5 device for $293

I was going to change AV because ESET wasn't up to par for Windows 10 to my liking, compared to how it was for other OS.

Originally I went with ESET because at the time I was in competitive gaming, and ESET had the only Gamer mode, and low profile memory usage.

It still has low profile memory use, but the Windows 10 Gaming Mode is buggy with multiple monitor configurations.

Just for an example - from the top of my head -
    MBAM 3.0 uses around 250MB
    ESET 10.0 uses around 40MB
