They must have had people price beating JB's price, they have them for $249 in their catalogue at the moment.
Had mine for a year but got it for $236, just remember that a new model is coming out along with other models that may suit people's needs (e.g. vivo line).
It is a fantastic watch though.

can someone highlight the differences between forerunner 235 and the more expensive fenix 5s? i am looking to get a gps watch for my wife who runs a fair bit and would like to see if it's worth spending twice the amount on the fenix 5s. thanks in advance!
If your wife hasn't had a Garmin before, I'd look into the Suunto watches instead. I've always used Garmin devices and they often have issues (currently using a Forerunner 620 which has stopped working in the middle of two important races and lots of training runs). I would like to swap to Suunto but that would mean learning a whole new system and I don't have time. My coach and most of my run squad use Suunto and they say it's much better than Garmin.
