This is at 50% off the retail though. Some reviews say the O2 motion is worth it.
Charles Tyrwhitt does not have stores here but their return process is fairly straightforward. Sometimes I do like to pop in a store to try the shoes on for style and fit.
If you know of a good quality black julius marlow shoe, let me know. I'd love to buy it for work.
I've had nothing but problems with their black dress shoes.
I've had no issues with the 'Massive' boot in the year i've had them for work. They get quite a workout and are still going strong. I got them after getting sick of going through a similar Windsor Smith style every six months.
I agree. Save for some Florsheim and they work out much cheaper by lasting 4-5 times longer.
i've got a pair of florsheims - 6 months in the leather is splitting near my little toe :( quality isn't as good as i'd hoped
Found this Visual Guide to Dress Shoes - good to know the style names.
Interesting, but the only sole I really like there is Commando. When I broke my ankle, I stopped buying shoes with soles that don't provide a good grip.
Great discount OP. Thanks for posting.
The O2 motions are very comfortable shoes - the sole is soft enough that I can run (for buses) with them!
But the sole cracked one year after I bought them. Quite disappointed with their quality I must say
Thanks. Good to know more about the O2 Motion. I think shoes resoling need to be done after regular wear. One year is a reasonable timeframe?
Back in the day, you could get through a pair of windsor smiths for 4-5 years without resoling.
But Windsor Smith is quite possibly at the bottom of the list at the moment.
So "back in the day" is… 1997?
Looks like they have bumped up the price for their sale. The 02 Rome are normally $149.95 (well we’re a week or so ago and are that in stores). Still $100 is a great price for them, but really don’t get why they price jack it just to make the saving sound bigger than just doing a 33% sale instead..
I actually got the code from doing a survey so I'm not sure it was part of their marketing to jack the prices up. Do you think it's still a good deal to buy, or is barely okay at $100 and they might be cheaper next sale (e.g. Christmas)?
The shoes I am interested are:
ROME >> https://www.juliusmarlow.com.au/shop/performance/o2motion-2-…
RIO >> https://www.juliusmarlow.com.au/shop/performance/o2motion-2-…
QUEENSTOWN Boots >> https://www.juliusmarlow.com.au/shop/performance/queenstown-…
The ROME has those toe-cap thing which makes the style looks a bit 'mature'!?
I’ve had a pair of O2s which I’ve worn daily for work for 2 years. They are about due for a replacement but have served me well, so yeah I would recommend Marlows. $100 is a pretty decent price for them too.
Pretty much have the same experience, 2 years on only the heel shows a little uneveness and the upper leather a few creases but with a polish, still look good.
Paid about $60 - $70 then. But, that was from one of those epic coupon deals years ago.
@jdf: Thanks for sharing. Just to confirm, it's one of the O2 Motion range?
@sky blu: No, was just talking about JM's in general, I don't think they are the O2's, the box says Excite.
I had a Julius Marlow shoe from Myer. Within a year the cheap bonded leather split near the toe bend. Poor quality.
I have had thje same issue for the "Plunge" I purchased from brands warehouse, it has started to peel off with minimal use, definitely not leather. I have tried to contact the rep for feedback. I do have another set purchased elsewhere which is still strong after heavy use and the only wear is on the sole.
Maybe the two models I wear are no longer made (Premium & Majestic) but hard to buy online without knowing them beforehand for me - I tend to be picky.
Prices are ok. Not cheap….
Bought a pair of black boots and some slip-on brown work shoes with free shipping @ ~$160. Replacing two other JM pairs which I alternate (they probably would have cost me about $200 total): one lasting 2-3 years and still okay, the other only 9 months!
Soles are always the first to go for me - a lot of rough surfaces. Hesitant to buy another set of JM, but not willing to pay RM prices (yet). Hoping these "crystal soles" go a bit better.
Expired? I get 'COUPON CODE "ENJOY50" IS NOT VALID' despite using code on full priced item
That is odd. They must have ended it early. There's a $10 discount for new sign-up, however if you could wait for the next sale/ discount code it will be more worth it.
Have marked posted as Expired.
Oh my god. Don't do it. Julius Marlow is absolutely terrible. Shoes fall apart, leather peels off and soles are not durable.
I think Charles tyrwhitt's shoes are a better buy for someone on a budget. $150 will get you a great pair of shoes. You only have to see the reviews on whirlpool or productreview about this brand.
