Cool. I will read more details as you write them

  • So list an item, pay 10% in fees and get a 10% off voucher.

To be fair, these promos actually stack with the free final value fees promos, once I sold an item with no fees and it stacked with a $50 voucher.

      • Are there any free final value promos running right now? need to sell iPhone 7 brand new and eBay seems the place to sell.

Yep there's this one, pretty sure registrations are still open.

        • @doweyy: Thanks just posted my first sale on eBay…lets see how I go…

          @kiwiinoz:

No worries, just remember, if you have any issues with the fees not being free make sure you contact ebay support ASAP! They have some issues with the promos but can fix them straight away.

List an item for $75 - eBay fee around $7.50

Use voucher for something that costs a couple of grand with no price jacking from retailer save a couple of hundred

      WIN

      • I assume most people will have the 5 free listing offer still valid

  • Not to sound negative, but if any eBay reps are reading this, might be a more tempting offer to give a 20% off sitewide voucher for selling stuff over a certain amount. I, personally would not be tempted by this offer.

We get 10% off sitewide periodically anyways, and on our birthday week. As for selling, the occasional fee free final value offers, which seem to come about at least quarterly (for me at least…)

    Just saying…

    • Asking eBay to take an actual financial hit with a 20% sitewide coupon will never happen….Basically eBay are just negating the 10% coupon with the Final Value fee that they impose on the seller…

In other words you buy a $1000 item and the seller will be paying approx $100 final value fees which they in turn pass on to you as a saving (leaving them nothing)

If they started offering 20% they'd be taking approx a 10% hit on sold value….

Good in theory but can't see that business model working unfortunately

      • And just like Cashbacks - if you get some people who don't use their coupon, eBay comes out ahead again. Having the onus on the client/customer to redeem means you'll always get people who forget to redeem.

  • Anyone know if three is a cap on the 10% voucher? Can't seen one in the T&Cs?

  • Yeah same here - nothing that I could see to suggest other than unlimited

  • Have had my worst first selling experience on eBay….put up an iPhone this morning and first buyer bought it in like an hour….then sent me email masking as paypal paid email address…I contacted eBay and advised them of the fraud….Relisted again as per their advise - 2nd buyer again same thing. Both buyers in US and did not do any bidding just 'buy now'. Raised it with eBay and they said we will investigate and get back…Now not sure if I should relist….

Sorry to hear about your experience, but don't stress, selling on eBay has its merits. What you went thru is probably less than 1% of what really happens.

Sh*t happens, move on, relist with Australia buyers only (in the settings somewhere you can block foreign bidders, I have it default after a similar experience)

You can also restrict bidders with negative ratings or unpaid accounts.

      Good luck!

      • Thanks Man…I wonder where that setting is…I will try to find it and see if it helps…
