      If only you could buy that mixture in a goon bag

        I've never tried it. That good huh?

        What I did like was a shot of 70% Tequila and 30% Kahlua. No overly sweetness of Kahlua, and no strong bitterness of Tequila… a really weird combo that works!

    • Sounds good just got my self a bottle. Gonna try that for new years.

      • Try balck russian. 2 parts vodka 1 part khalua(i prefer 1/2 part as khalua is too sweet for my taste) or add another part of cream liquor to get white russian. Either one are by far my favorite mix that doesn't contain non alcoholic drink in it but isn't too strong to drink.

        • Not really into coffee so not sure if Ill like that.

          I just like carbonated stuff when its cold. Heard Midori is to sweet so I'm hoping a nice dry sparkling will cut back on its sweetness.

      1/3 midori + 1/3 bubbles + 1/3 pineapple juice. Thank me later.

      • +2

        Any advice on what type of bubbles to use?
        As for the pineapple juice do you just use a brand like golden circle or the more fresh ones in the cold section?

        • +1

          Bubbles depends on your budget but in the end its a mix so would be hard to justify French. You probably wouldnt need anything better than Jansz. For the pineapple juice, yep, we use Golden Circle.

    Great price. Pity it's for Midori though..

    • Yet you +Vote?

      Your better alternative?

      • Just a tongue in cheek remark.. it's a good price, I've just had 'less than favourable experiences' with Midori as a teenager.

      The midori splice planets have aligned

      • I love that drink!

  • Go to DM's for price beat ;-)

      I have been making my own Midori when money gets tight. Take 50% Vodka, mix with 50% Melon flavour concentrate (from Asian grocery). The flavour comes quite close to the real deal.

      40% Vodka costs ~$35 + $7 concentrate == $42 for two bottles @ 20% alcohol. This works out ~$21 per 700ml.

        @Ruotian nice tip, thanks

      If you always go to DM for price beat, you kill competition. Buy from first choice and give DM a lesson.

      • first choice is owned by wesfarmers(coles owner) vs DM(woolies owner)

        Its a liqour duopoly so you wont have to worry about killing competition.
