In case you hadn't heard, Australian Unions (and the AMWU in particular) are calling for a boycott of Streets Ice Cream this summer.
Apparently the Enterprise Agreement Streets had with their workers was paying them 46% above the award - and Streets wants to terminate the Agreement and revert to the award rate.
I want to know, will you be supporting the boycott?
(In other words, will you cheapness override your sympathy for workers getting a big pay-cut?).

“Our trade union movement in Australia is alive and kicking,” McManus said.
“We are back and we are intending to use whatever is necessary to defend the rights of working people.”
McManus said it was impossible for workers to negotiate fairly when companies were able to terminate enterprise agreements.
Murphy said the workers at Minto were feeling humbled by the support from the union movement and the Australian community.
“We’re saying thank you, Australia, enjoy Streets this summer,” he said.
McManus added: “I think it’s time for a Gaytime.”
A Streets Ice Cream worker inter vied on A Current Affair last night said he was earning $94,000 a year. With the 4% increase he is now on $97,760.
$97,760 to work in an ice cream factory. WTF.
Consider a nurse first year on the job earns $60,885. It takes EIGHT years to reach the top of the pay scale at $85,488.
So an ice cream factory worker is worth $33.000 a year more than a first year nurse and $8,000 more than a nurse with eight, nine or fifteen years of experience.
As I said…WTF.
