  • Too bad I can't actually play the piano…

    Seems pretty decent for $800.

Nearly purchased until I saw this

    Tuning Control: A4 = 415.5 Hz ~ 440.0 Hz ~ 465.9 Hz

Pretty average tuning control but I guess it's proportional to the price

Also has transpose. Why do you need to tune it?

  • surprised that the shipping is only $49 for a freaking piano

Be worth buying just to watch the postie lug it around on his bike

      • Nah, they'll just have a card for you.

It'll be JBHi-Fi's delivery people or a courier.

    • Note, it's from $49.

    • Only 40Kg.

This isn't a big heavy old school one.

Courier should be able to handle it.

I prefer to buy from Barry Morgan's world of organs. You can't beat his easy One Figer method.

  • Good price, recently bought a beginner CDP150 for $580 with original stand delivered. Wish I went with yamaha though, sounds way better!

  • A decent MIDI controller and a nice free VSTi makes more sense to me.

I have this Digital Piano from last deal.
Great unit, very solid build with the included stand.
The retractable key cover is also great, which you won't get on general keyboards.

Wouldn't say the headphone output is amazing quality, but I am used to plugging headphones into my Scarlett 2i4 with FLAC mixes.

But for speakers, its great for the price. I have them at about 60%, and they fill my open plan living room well. 60% is about the volume of the upright piano I learnt on, so matches well.

The inbuilt piano sounds are also great, I prefer Modern and Bright as my go too, and if you don't like them it's also a USB MIDI keyboard, so straight into your favourite DAW and you'll be set.

I love the 'ivory touch' keys which add texture and stop them from feeling like cheap plastic, and the hammer action weighted feel is also much welcomed.
They feel very close to the CDP-120 in terms of weight and firmness on press.

    • another thing to remember is that there are "sound holes" on the front face, but the speakers drive downwards through cutouts at the base of the main body. unlike most keyboards with upward firing speakers.
And you also can't really use it without the included stand, as it has a huge black plastic part on the base where AC and the pedals plug into.
