Bluetooth Receiver for My Pioneer Home Stereo Amp

Hi All,
I have a Pioneer Home Stereo setup. Its 5.1 surround sound and makes my loungeroom pump like a vegas nightclub. I got it a few years ago with the speakers and its amazing BUT there is no bluetooth capability to it.

There is a USB 2.0 port on the front where I can plug my iPhone into with my iPhone Cable. That's too much work to get up from my couch, plug my phone in and have phone sitting near the amp.

I'm after suggestions to plug a Bluetooth USB receiver into the USB port on the amp and connect to that from my phone and then HAPPY DAYS i can stream to my stereo via bluetooth.

eBay has items like the below, but I'm not sure if that's just some cheap crap or if it will actually work.

Any advice appreciated!

This is probably your best option, it's a bit pricier but it sounds like your speakers are a good setup so you'll want something better than just the cheap ones.

Cheapest I could find is $35 Delivered @ MWave using paxlogitech17

Yeah I have one of these too. Its pretty good, does NFC if you're into that sort of thing, and has optical audio out so you get the better quality sound

      • Might give one of these a go if the cheapy from eBay doesn't work or has poor quality sound. Thanks again mate

The best Bluetooth IMO is the Yamaha YBA11

I was in a similar situation and am using this. It also support AdaptX.

The difference is that it is connected to your Coax digital input so it really depends if your receiver has this input.

Unless you specifically want USB. However if you use this, then you have a spare USB port for other use.

Edit: it needs a USB port for power so my bad.

I have seen these as low as $40 on eBay second hand.

    Cheers

  • Interesting guys. Appreciate your insight.

I got this for $5 and will give it a go
