  • Perfect thanks! Was waiting for one of these deals to pick up a portable air conditioner

Are these 4k TVs any good? I'm looking for something that I can hook up my PC + XBOX One X in the near future.

It has an LG panel advertised . Not sure if it makes any difference

      • Yeah, I saw the description as well. Not a lot more information there, I might have to do some more digging. Hopefully a few other ozbargainers have had the product and can share some of their experiences.

It would suffer from terrible dirty screen effect then. I wouldn't touch a LG panel except for OLED.

They actuallly have better reputation than Samsung screens

@easternculture: I would disagree. I bought one and returned it for a Samsung, the DSE was attrocious and I noticed it on every model.

        • @nubzy: Compare the makers brand with the makers brand not something rebranded dse with subpar components.

          @nubzy:

          How long ago was this

I remember reading that with the newer generations panels, LG was superior

        • @easternculture: Last year. Bought the UH770T LG and it was horrid. Maybe things have changed this year, not sure. But there were many other people that bought the same TV and returned it due to the same issue. It affected the entire range.

    • I have the curved non-smart version of this [KU8500] and it's pretty good @ 4K 60 Hz on a GTX 1050ti - It's really nice standing on the wall by the gate at Whiterun and seeing the Western tower clear as a bell:-)
It is remarkably good at upscaling SD broadcasts, but is a bit slow on boot-up, so a "Smart" TV would be even worse. The menu format, layout and choices are identical to the ones on the Bauhns that Aldi sell, but the picture and sound are better.

The USB was happy with a 128 Gb stick, the Optical out passes 5 + 1 and it has one ARC HDMI port.
The one drawback - Shiny :-(. A matt finish would be good but it is light, stable and the bezels are hardly there. For when you just can't find the remote, the function buttons are under the bezels on the left hand side, a decent size, and a proper "clicky" feel button, not a wishy-washy soft rubber hit-and-miss token gesture.

    • I have a '4K' 55 inch from these guys, they're really good for what you pay for, just make sure you adjust the colors based on recommendations on Whirlpool, you should have a decent set up. Don't expect OLED quality blacks though lol

Great thanks OP - had a $5 voucher which i've been waiting to use ;)

  • Can someone who orders from them please tell me:

During the checkout process, does it give you an opportunity to enter instructions?

I am away until 3 November. So I want to be able to tell them to delay shipping until then!

    • Get a Parcel Locker. You can order late on Friday which means it won't arrive at the parcel locker until the following week - then you'll have 5 business days to collect!

    • Due to popular demand, the allocation of TVs shipping on November 10th has sold out. The next dispatch date will be November 29th.

    • Or you can get a MyPost account with Aus Post, then use the address of your local post office to order from Kogan, pick up parcel from there when you get back.

    • i ordered from kogan dicksmith and they use Toll

Toll don't deliver to auspost / parcel locker.

If you order late Friday they won't ship until Monday.
The courier will leave a note if you are not there & you can call when you get home to arrange redelivery.

  • Thanks. Had a $30 voucher so picked up the Apple Pencil for $109.
