Hello OzBargainers.
On wednesday I ordered food from Alic's Thai (Newtown) via UberEATS. Order confirmed, charged $38.00 and will be delivered within 15 mins.
Somewhere around 5 mins before the order was delivered, it was cancelled. I got in touch with the person who was supposed to deliver the order and informed that he will reimburse the $38.00 and that I have to order again because wrong order was sent. Buying his word, when I was about to order again, I noticed that I was charged again for $40.00. I didn't order the second time and immediately called the restaurant and they claimed that it wasn't their fault and I have to contact UberEATS for this. Then a few minutes later the restaurant called again and said that they will send my original order and wont have to pay the $38.00 again because they are not going to reimburse it and for the $40 they are not responsible for and I have to contact the company.
I looked online for a customer service to contact but ended up in vain. Couldn't find anything. I was wondering whether this happened to any of you and if it did how did you guys ended up resolving this.
