    Great. I paid $1800. Yay!

    • if you have insurance you may be able to get out of the contract.

      • Ah, I just realised I'm not travelling during the advertised dates, I don't think it would apply to my ticket. Thanks for the tip, I will keep it in mind.

      • How does this work?

        • My brother had a change of mind and contract said it was ok

    • Hahaha, Lima is the culinary capital of the world - https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-03-02/why-lima-… - shouldn't be missed on a trip to the continent!

Rio definitely worth a visit! Sao Paulo more business focussed…

Santiago more developed than other parts of South America, but very expensive and not too much to see culturally - Australians also need to pay $117 USD if leaving the airport….

      • +1

Yep, Santiago is very dull, doesn't merit more than a couple of days. Lima has good food, but not great to stick around - head to Cusco, Arequipa, the Amazon - Peru is one of the best tourist destinations in the world.

Rio is both awesome and a dive (just take care), but Brazil has so much to see, Sao Paulo being a main hub for air traffic.

head to the south of Chile- pure paradise- coniferous forests as far as the eye can see, blue glaciers and black sandy beaches, active volcanos with gorgeous thermal springs and interesting little villages with heavy Croatian\German influences

      • Agree with you! However, Australians need a visa for most South American countries anyway.

        • +1

You need a visa for Brazil, and I think Paraguay, but not for the rest - though Chile will still charge a reciprocity fee (Argentina no longer do).

        • +1

@JohnHowardsEyebrows: And the reciprocity fee is only if you arrive into Santiago airport. If you go to Peru or Argentina and catch a bus over, you won't have to pay.

No deal to Medellin or Cali at Columbia? I have some "business" to attend to there :p

    • +8

Head phones are not necessarily cheaper there as they claimed.

      It's Colombia

It's also an awesome place to visit and I had no issues with safety. They have come a hell of a long way since the 80's and 90's.

  • any example of $1099 flight dates from Bris or Sydney to Lima? No deals to Quito?

  • Can you fly in one city, and return from another?
