LED TVs & Computer Screens - What Do You Use for Cleaning?

Damn kids and fingerprints/hand prints, need to find something to clean the TVs.

So what do people use? What's best value for money?

As long as it's as pure as you can get so that it doesn't leave further residue. Do t push hard on the screen and I find that if you clean in circular motions it helps with less streaking

I bought a small spritzer, just a small spray bottle, and I use a mix of 1:3 Isopropyl Alcohol-Water, I get the Isopropyl in the form of Isocool (the one with the goofy looking crocodilian); it smells nice and cleans up devices good and proper.

I think though try and spray or dribble the water mix onto the cloth and then wipe the TV with that afterwards, you can get the microfibre towels from Bunnings or K-Mart even, I think most works out to around $1 or so a towel, but YMMV and you could prob find some around .50c a towel.

Best value for money is tackling the original problem, dont let the kids or anyone touch the screen. Hit their hand if they touch it. $0. Bad habit.
I dont have kids so I dont know how bad the situation is.
I was a kid once and I can vouch I liked touching tv screens and the like.
But to answer your question, I use microfibre and isopropyl alcohol to clean most surface. I buy a gallon of isopropanol from Science Supply Australia instead of the 250-500ml store bought ones.

      This guy rubs.

  • You don't need to buy anything for this job.

Use a CLEAN face washer/flannel/microfibre cleaning cloth and get it completely wet with plain cold water from a tap. Rub a SMALL amount of plain ordinary bathroom soap onto it, then wring it out.

Wipe your screen GENTLY. Then, dry your screen off with a soft lint-less cloth, like a different microfibre cloth, or a towel, or even a soft tea-towel. DO NOT use a tissue or paper towel - they're too scratchy.

    • Agree, I use soapy water.
