Best E-fax service?

Hi all, basically took over a retail business which got a fax number which is no longer active. Unsure who's the previous provider, but definitely disconnected anyway.

How do I go about keeping the same number, but using "e-fax" service instead? Basically I wish to receive faxes through email, and able to send fax electronically (gonna scan doc through a Brother Multifunction printer)?

Which e-fax provider would you recommend in term of value & reliability?

Thanks!

Yes, my brother-in-law. I believe he is the one still sending faxes.

    • Some companies (and government related entities) still insist on using fax for the transmission of certain documents. They deem that it is a secure way of transmission unless you have point to point encryption from your pc to theirs. Well you cant really hack an analog signal unless you have an intercepting device to physically tap into the line.

    • Unfortunately, B2B, still uses fax, specially in medical field or people in country who don't have ADSL (still few around there).
For most places, use it as convenient factor. Put the document, dial the number and send. (they don't care how other end processing the document)
Some people think, scan and send a document is a pain; scan it, save it, make sure its applicable file size, then find the email send.? lol Although more convenient for person who receiving it.

      Solutions would be,
you can have fax to email services (google it)
or most business printers can save or email the fax.

    • Fax is a must if you do business with Japanese.

  • I would take the opportunity to go digital, setup a fax email address.

    • Like I said, fax is a must unfortunately..

      • Can you please elaborate why in 2017 a fax is a must. I'm not trying to be rude, I legitimately would like to know what businesses and functions are still reliant on a fax.

        • It's just the nature of my business, not very keen in revealing which. But unfortunately I have to fax through orders with some suppliers, plus some gov sector only have fax number

PLus sometimes it's more time consuming to scan, attach and send.

        • Many Patent Offices overseas and the Health Industry all use faxes still. Still a reliable form of communication to confirm receipt/delivery of what is sent.

  • I use telecube.com.au
Faxes are no longer secure with fax to email services. May as well just email the PDF.
I have a fax number, but looking to eliminate it as no one sends me faxes any more.
IT will cost me more timewise to track down the fax number and remove it on all my documents though!

    • So how does it work with telecube?

      • I have a 1300 fax number.
People who send a fax to this number have their fax converted to a PDF which appears in my email inbox.

I don't know how you can keep the same number if it is already disconnected. doesnt that mean it has been unassigned and possibly reassigned to some where else?
