$19.89 250kg P-Handle Trolley Pneumatic Tyres Bunnings

220

Cheap hand trolley/hand truck. I got a flat on my existing one and couldn't fix it….patch kept puckering up when inflated. Went to Bunnings for a tube…boy do they have some weird pricing. $14.98 for just the tube, $19.94 for just the tyre, $9.99 for the wheel(which includes both tube, tyre and also rims). I should have bought this but didn't see it, I only saw the tube for $14.98 and the whole trolley for $19.94. Trolley was marked down from $23 odd dollars. Note that the tyres aren't fully inflated, if you don't have a compressor inflate them on the way home.

    I have had the same issue with tires perishing over time.
    I bit the bullet and paid $40 for some solid tires on ebay, which have been very good so far.

        What ever happened to just filling with concrete…

        • That's not such a bad idea. Rather than concrete, I wonder if you could fill them with that gap filling foam stuff, which of course would be a helluva lot lighter?

        • @bigrizz: they do concrete so it doesn't warp and squish.

          I'd think the foam would but you never know.

    I bought a couple of these and made a kickass Billy cart for the kids using the tyres, axles and the frame, cutting one in half to make the chassis of the Billy cart. The metal platform is the backrest. It's the envy of the playground.

      I'd love to see some photos of it. Sounds great.

      • I've got some pics. I'll figure out an elegant way to share them with you.

          @m9:

          Thanks. Here's a quick pic I just took in the garage while hanging up.

          I need to go trawling for the pics I took previously but this gives you an idea of how I used the parts. And yes, I also built brakes for it using some aluminium I had kicking around.

          @bigrizz: nice work.

        • @bigrizz:Dayum son!

  • If you're a serious trolley user, you should always get the solid wheel variety.

    You'll never have to deal with punctures or inflating the tyres, and they just feel so much better to handle.

      Depends. I have both types, and when I had to wheel some heavy filing cabinets across the road, gravel got embedded in the solid wheels. No such problem with the pneumatic tyres.

      There is good reason why almost every wheeled vehicle uses pneumatic tyres, despite the risk of punctures.

    Looking at the picture seems identical to the red $20 one at Supercheap Auto. They have wheel assemblies for $10.

  • I thought this was the normal price. I bought this one a few years ago, just for the wheels and axle. Threw out the rest.
    Was much cheaper than buying wheels separately.

  • Just bought one for $24.98 seems pretty solid.
