Be Aware When You Use PricePal. My Cashback Is Approved for Months but Never Get Paid

Well, I never heard of this PricePal until an OBZ member posted a deal that PricePal was giving $20 cashback shopping with woolies. Hence I registered with PricePal and made the woolie purchase on 25/05/2017. Not long after the purchase, my cashback was approved and it showed that the estimated payment was in Aug-2017. I submitted my bank details as they instructed.

Then the wait game started, in the end of Aug 2017, I didn't get my cashback paid. Then in the end of Sept, no payment. Till now, no payment. I've lodged an enquiry but NEVER got a response.

This is extremely dodgy as there is no contact method of PricePal. No email address, no contact number etc. They only have the online enquiry form that they NEVER reply or response.

Just be extremely cautious when you use PricePal. I know there might be ppl with success experience with them. But in my case, I would rate them as a SCAM.

    You're not alone, I've got two which are approved and the transactions were on the 21/05. I've contacted Pricepal and apparently they are waiting for Woolworths to pay them so they can pay it out

      You even got a reply. If PricePal couldn't work out with Woolie, they should stop offering ppl such cashbacks. It's been 5 months. Seriously doubting legitimacy of this PricePal.

      I clicked this thinking OP encountered a website setup to look like PricePal, using their logos etc. to try and mine user data, but this is far from it…

    • I'm not sure what this should be classified. I feel the same way as buying something from gumtree, paid in full and never receive the item.

        Bad customer service at the moment. Grimace says he has gotten a response, so it's poor form they haven't conveyed that response to other customers.

        But in knowing that, at the moment I wouldn't class it as a scam.

        • I might be a bit too upset. Not sure how long should I wait before I can call them a scam. They never response to my enquiry. And I'm not alone as Grimace didn't receive the cashback either from 21/05. It looks like PricePal keeps advertising cashback from Woolies but never issues payment. At least I can add 'false advertising' to the name of PricePal. They even call themselves 'Australia's No.1 Cashback Site', sounds like a joke to me.

    It's poor form that you haven't received a response, no doubt about it.

    However PricePal are the longest serving Australian cashback provider - formerly Starthere and before that Moneybackco. Cashrewards are the relative newcomers.

    Regarding your cashback not being paid out - there are possible other factors why Woolworths is not paying PricePal, possibly you used a coupon (which invalidates your cashback) or possibly Woolworths picked up that it wasn't your true first time order (same address, DOB etc). The same would happen with any cashback provider -
    if you don't follow the rules explicitly then you aren't entitled to cashback. Hopefully PricePal respond with clarification soon - I would chase them again.

      Being the longest serving cashback site in Aus, PricePal should be more professional in customer service and provide better ways to solve issues like this. I had wonderful experience with Cashrewards despite it's new.

      In my case, it already shows 'approved' hence I assume my cashback was already approved by Woolworths. And I also submitted my payment details as instructed.

      I hope this issue will be addressed soon by them. And thank you for the help.

      • Yeah cashrewards certainly have a better reputation for customer service. On ozbargain thru have two reps at least. Can't say I remember seeing a rep here from pricepal. Plus cashrewards have that guarantee thing. Me personally I prefer pricepal still because their policies are better for my shopping habits.

        I'd be messaging them again immediately, don't wait for them to respond - they might have lost your message

  • PricePal has been really good for me. Everything paid and they do it automatically.

    I find cashrewards I need to watch closely as they simply remove some claims. Which I've had to follow up on and have reinstated.

  • Last time I used pricepal, it was a purchase from Sony. Estimated cash back was $2.20. Cash back received was $0.60 with no explanation. Decided it wasn't worth using if they weren't going to reply to my inquiry

    UPDATE:

    PricePal sent me an email last Friday to provide more information about my case. They even offered me a free upgrade to Gold status.

    And today I received my cashback.

    Good gesture from PricePal. Wish they could have solved this at first stage but I'm good with them now.

    • PricePal did delay payout recently.It should have paid out before 5th October.

      • The delay of payout is getting worse now. I reckon Cashrewards is much better now.
