I ordered from them last time with the $50 off voucher. Ended up being charger the full amount and have now filed a charge back.

…no such thing as a 'free dinner' eh? ;)

      • No, turned out to be quite expensive

    • Better to use paypal and cancel auto pay upon receiving delivery

    • i always have a prepaid credit card from coles for these kind of things =)

    • +1

You probs selected items that weren't included in the terms and conditions for the $50 free dinner.

    • Did you confirm the promo code got applied and total became zero before proceeding with payment?

      • Yeah when I did it clearly said $0 at the checkout as long as you chose eligible items.

    • You probably stuffed it up yourself, I know of 4 people that ordered and had no problems whatsoever

      • +1

I don't think so lange. There are a few people with this problem.

I advise that you DO NOT sign up to this bull***. Previously went through the $50 sign up deal, where you get $50 off. Found out I was charged and they will not refund it back to me. Customer Complaints team are blatantly rude and show no professionalism in their work. Was told that I will legally escalate this and the woman I was speaking to said "You can try - but we'll just Bin your proposal". The call was all recorded and I am in the process of talking to the ACCC.

    • +5

Please let us know the outcome. Can't tolerate this kind of practice. Especially when you speak with staff with no personality and zero customer service skills.

      This is normal for them.

Aussie Farmers Direct was born as a scam company.

Their tactic was to lie and deceive you via door knocking etc into subscription of overpriced junk that you can't easily get out of.

They have backed down a little since then, but the company culture is always going to be the same.

      Hopefully they go bankrupt.

      • Couldn't agree more mate - good to know there are people out there with me.

    • Wow, thats pretty out there for customer service to say that

  • is it only applied to meal? not to the fresh food?

  • You've made me cautious now.. I got a meal sitting in my cart with the promo applied and amount payable $0 and its set as a once off order..

I have registered my NAB Travel Card which has zero balance and it accepted it on signup so obviously it doesn't try to add like a $1 auth charge to add it..

I should be safe then I don't intend on adding any funds to this card so they can't charge me if they try

    • I used the last offers - I was charged only the correct amount.

Having said that, they DO hassle you on followup phone calls which you have to be careful of, because (in my case at least) they offered me some more free stuff over the next couple of weeks and then quietly added a "this call is being recorded" statement and then put some stuff onto my next delivery "so I would qualify for the free stuff".

No problems from my end, because I knew exactly what they were doing and just went onto the website and changed it, but it's a sneaky tactic that I don't like - it's borderline scamming.

  • +5

I used the $50 off voucher last time and there were no issues at all.

Make sure you read the T&C's as i believe the the promo only worked on the meals range.

    • also worked on the fruit box I got delivered to my sis

    • Same

    • Same….I even emailed them to double confirm they will not continue charging me (just to be safe and I can keep the email as proof)

  • +1

Be careful as my order for placed there is no confirm button. It was sitting there in the cart and I clicked on frequency to look at the options and it looks like doing that placed the order! I thought I still had to click on once off to confirm the order but apparently not….

Actually that wasn't it.. seems the order was placed as soon as I added promo code but the confirm button had still not been clicked yet I got an email prior to this saying order confirmed..

    • I recall clicking on 'Confirm' after which I've got that email. You sure you never pressed the button? Agree they gotta streamline that UI for clarity.

      • nope didnt click anything yet as I was still checking with my partner if that's the meal to get.. So I had it sitting in my cart ready to Press confirm but discovered 30 minutes later an email was already sent saying order confirmed..

I then clicked Confirm and the order status on the UI changed to Confirm now and I got another email saying order confirmed!!

    • Can change or cancel the order if mistakenly done
As per T& C on their website,
You are able to change or cancel:
      • an order (excluding products marked as pre-order) without charge or penalty at any time before 12pm (your
      state’s local time) the day prior to the delivery date;

      • Yes thanks.. Realise can change it but was a little surprised it confirmed my order without me doing it

  • Got this message when enter prepaid credit card

An error has occured. Apologies for the trouble! Please call us on 1300 645 562 for help

    • Seen this error while using previous $50 deal, called them, Cust support said some technical issue, he will report to concerned. Was able to submit the order later that day

Last time I ordered 1 fruit box and 1 meat box, only 1 fruit box turned up. Tried contacting customer service and got a response saying "we did experience a shortage in protein packs and as such we won't be able to get you that box redelivered on that reason alone".
Which to me makes no sense? Would stay clear!

  • +1

It says for new customers but I successfully applied the promo code on an existing account where I have made an order.

    • The code worked for my existing account as well :)

  • I know of 4 people that had no issues whatsoever and all loved it.
They would have been absolutely hammered when it was a free $50, then people complain they didn't get a box or whatever. There are bargain hunters, then there are just plain Wayne Kerrs. Seriously.

    • -1

No one is forcing them to make these offers.

      • -1

        Who said they were?

    • Lol you're one of very few that they do satisfy. I guess all businesses have to satisfy some customers hey? Their business model is based on deceiving customers. They do this by, say attracting 100 customers through coupons, satisfying 5 and dis-satisfying the other 95. They do this on a constant basis knowing that; that '5' people will always buy in and create more money. They repeat this constantly because nut-jobs like you constantly feed them money. There will always be a bunch of people that will utilise the "give it a try attitude". I hope this company, along with all of its rude employees go in bankruptcy. Can't wait.

      • Want some cheese to go with that?

So what was the reason they gave for charging you?

I received $50 worth of food for free and have had one phone call from them to which I said I was at work and can't talk and I haven't heard from them since.
But hey, yeah what a nut-job I am. All the other people I know of that received their food for free with no hassles must be nut-jobs also?? Faaaarkk… we better buy lotto tickets because we're the super dooper lucky 5 out of 100 that got theirs lmao

        • Lol don't try and draw comparisons between two completely different things..

        • -1

          @mazzzzz: O… M… G…. Stop being a complete mazzzzer!!!
Why did they charge you? Probably because you're a meat head that didn't follow the T&C's or maybe they just knew you're a complete mazzzer?

        • @OneMoreTune:

I had applied the coupon and they said I didn't - even though I provided the invoice with the balance displaying $0.00

        • @mazzzzz: If that is true, I would be fuming with them. Plus, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on!?!?

  • Placed an order now, but havent received confirmation yet ( since last 30+mins), any one having similar issue?

    • +1

Check your junk email. Mine was in there, i received the email after 10 mins.

  • +1

ahh well….. I'll never find out…. I live 20 mins from the CBD, but they don't deliver to my address apparently…..

  • This service/product they provide is supposed to be convenient, but I say it's bloody stressful.

  • Watch out with some of "ready meals" items - we ordered a family pie last time to get the order up to the required $50 and it added it weekly. IE every week forever until you remove it. Pretty cheeky as there is no particular warning when adding although its there in the basket like that. Would definitely use a debit card that you only keep limited funds in.

Ive had 4 orders from them all with codes and it has been a great experience.

Not sure how people are having issues.

    • 4 orders ? with same code under diff account at same delivery address you meant?

      • Under the one account household.
        I used
        Two $50 codes
        and two $25 codes
and have one $25 code using now
And have another $25 code to use.

        It's a really good service I think

Total paid approx $60 for $200 value

    Ok, I'll risk it.

Ordered the Crispy Pork Belly with Pineapple Salsa for $30.

  • Got the $50 deal last time no problems, food was OK, subsequent call ups annoying.
Put in another meal at $30 :) thanks OP

  • Expired apparently :(
