Sorry I couldn't convince you of there value :/

        • Or of the correct use of the word "their".

  • +1

Sign up my electrician, you mean annoy the person i rely on when i have issues for some shitty globes, hmmpff fat chance

    • The globes are using CREE LED diodes so they will not be bad

      • "our specially selected CREE diodes" so what makes them good except the cree diode part?

        • -1

Specially picked out color, we spent a lot of time looking for the best CREE diode colours, we guarantee you've love them

    • At 44% off, I think your electrician will thank you for pointing them out, and they are genuine CREE expensive globes, at the price we're selling them for we're not making anything

  • +3

Why would an electrician want to sign up, buy the globes for me and then sell them back to me at the same price he paid?

Make the deal open to anyone and it might be a good deal depending on the prices.

    • -1

Try your electrician friend, I dare say he'd want to hear about it.

The cheapest you can get genuine CREE globes for is around $35, and we are selling our 8W globes for $47.25 - 44% = $27.75 - AND our 8W ones produce 60% more light than the MR16 3x3 CREE globes.

If you think that's not a Bargain, boy you're a tough crowd you lot :)

      • our 8W ones produce 60% more light than the MR16 3x3 CREE globes.

Can you please substantiate this claim?

        • Some companies selling MR16 3x3W (9W) CREE globes only tell you in the fine print that their 9W MR16 globes are actually run at around ~5W. While they do use 3W CREE diodes these are not run at full capacity because the MR16 form factor cannot dissipate the extra ampage. We've chosen not to advertise our "3x3W" CREE globes as "3x3W", I think it's misleading. Our MR16 form factor (the smaller one) 5W 3x3W CREE globes are actually run at around 5W and our larger 8W globes which can dissipate 60% more heat are run at 8W.

60% of 5W is 3W = 8W all up, current is proportional to light intensity.

If you go to our website at http://www.optexsolar.com.au/products/energy-efficient-led-l…
and check out the light meter reading we get ~60 for both "3x3W" CREE globes running at 5W and ~98 for the 8W, 60 + 60% = 95

hope that proves it for you

  • Sounds like a good deal as my electrician installs and is on the lookout for well-priced LEDs. The only issue is that I am not a big fan of "extra warm white" - I find it too yellow. I don't mind if my electrician mate makes 15% on top of what he pays or whatever his reasonable margin is. I have been looking at good LEDs for a while but they are sooo expensive.

    • Hey Seb,

I guess it depends on what you're use to, however LEDs do produce a particularly harsh light which is why we went with these after a lot of searching. I've got them installed at my place and I think we've definitely made the right choice.

Its not anything to do with the bargain but…

        1. What if I dont have an electrician mate
        2. Will the electrician pass on the savings or just pocket it for themselves
        3. Why do I need an electrician to install a globe

4 You have DIY solar hot water coming "soon" so that infers that no electrician is needed, doesn't make sense when I would have thought the hot water would require electrician and the globe not.

        • Why do I need an electrician to install a globe

does it involving hanging the light sockets or something?

  • +1

Since this is not electricianbargain.com.au (or e-bargain), why not make your 'deal' a deal for users of this site?

I expect you will see this removed if it's preceived to be free advertising / spam rather than a bargain for the general public who come here.

Just arrange a deal for the people here- or go elsewhere!

  • -1

if its not for me its not a bargain sorry.

    • And I am sure almost every deal posted here is not relevant to you.
That does not mean you have a valid reason to vote negative.
Go off and read the voting rules.

    • neg vote not valid

  • This isn't a bargain, you're asking us to do your advertising for you!

    Spam.

  • +2

Why we can't buy one ourself? If you indeed want to disprove other negative voters here, than you should sell it to us as well during promo period, and maybe we will tell other people or our technician to buy from you.
It is not like you sell to retail at this price indefinitely, just during promo period.
Otherwise, I have to agree with the negative vote here. This product doesn't need installation by technician, so, why have to tell them to buy it for us?

Show us your good faith and prove us wrong, and I (plus everyone, I guess) will reconsider the negative vote…

  • +4

Okay Guys, I got kicked off after my 5 comments per 24 hours limitation due to being a new user.

Looks like the people have spoken, I'm happy to announce that we'll have the promotion open to all people, however, one of the reasons we wanted for you to use electricians is because installing these globes - unless you're lucky and have the right transformer - will require a change in transformer, for this you'll need to use an electrician.

Anyway, I'll re-post the new deal in the coming days,

    thanks for the feedback :)

    • +1 to you too!
      A win-win for every one :)

  • I don't get it

Why not have the discount open to everyone

It's not like we require an electrician to replace a light bulb? Or do we ? :S
