^this comment is great for any wannabe flame boy
Good for newbie? Too small/tricky?
it's all personal preferences.
plastic decks are really flexible compared to wood and can be hard to balance on for someone learning to skate. there are Penny board style completes out there with a nice solid wood deck with real grip tape. globe, obfive and zflex to name a few.
also, the board can be too short/narrow for those with bigger feet. i'm a uk6 and it isn't all that comfortable to be riding for long distances. best to find one at a skate/surf shop and stand on it to get a feel.these Penny board clones are rather hit and miss with quality e.g. plastic deck isn't strong enough, crap bearings, trucks don't turn well. imo, better to get an actual Penny board that's last year's model on sale (there are a few at surfstitch: https://www.surfstitch.com/brands/penny). you don't want your learning experience to be ruined by potentially unsafe parts.
This one is great for any boy who voted 'yes'
