Garmin Vivosmart HR $139 at JB Hi-Fi

110

Want to find out what your heart rate is before you start that bush walk? You can now do so at a 'decent' price with this Garmin!

Good deal to be had before they knock the prices back up again. Could possibly be a clearout before another model is released. Lowest I've seen across any site & checked on Static Ice & Price Hipster too. There are other colors to be had as well (Blue, Purple & Black). It's at $189 on the official Garmin site.

  • How long is battery life on these??

    • 5 days, generally. Google gives a few reviews.

    • about a week, depends on how you use it.
just as a watch, heart rate and step counter, about a week.
or as a watch, heart rate, step counter, sync to vibrate with mobile calls and notifications, long runs and workouts, sleep monitor…. about 3 days. however you do get notification when battery is low so gives you a change to charge (about a day), and super fast to charge

  • It depends on how many of it's functions you use. The bluetooth is a big drainer. That's used to link to your phone app. I use heartbeat and steps and I get about a week between charges. I know it's time to recharge when a battery symbol appears on the bottom of the watch face.

How does this compare to the Mi Band 2?

    • +1

Knocks it out of the water mate. The app alone is waaaay ahead. Plus, its in English. I hate the mi app, it's terrible. Doesnt' sync with Google Fit even though it says it does.

hey, how you connect to google fit, you have to do it via google fit site or Garmin app?

For those interested here is a very in-depth review.

  • Good price.

  • How's it compare the the Fitbit Blaze? Those prices are probably about to drop.

Blaze has detailed sleep tracking, can't tell what the vivosmart can do
Blaze is not water-resistant, vivo HR is maybe 1 or 2m resistant?
VIvosmart HR slightly longer battery life (aided by not having a touchscreen, I imagine)
Blaze can show you email / sms previews, vivosmart looks simpler but hard to tell…

    • The vivp has a touch screen & also shows sms previews. Look at the detailed review above.

new one has a stress meter?? haha not enough bars to show my daily stress

    • Yea, that has been there for awhile, I couldn't find it at other retailers.

  • Great price, but I think I'll hold out for a vivosmart 3, as I prefer the features of the vivosmart 3. So very tempting to jump on this deal though!!!
