At least we have one happy customer who only received 2 :)
It would have been nice to have gotten the extras but I'm not that fussed. The kids are fighting think I will box them up and take them in to dse for a refund hehe.
are you allowed to get a full refund after opening them?
and that receipt looks quite legit to me, it was scanned afterall…
@che0173 they let you return opened merchandise.
The bargain post title clearly states buy 1 remote and get the 2 remote free. DSE website corresponds as there was a direct link to this deal. If you have made a purchase based on this information and for any reason you are not satisfied Dick Smith are being very generous by offering a full refund including shipping costs.
After making online orders based on this post a few people commented on an error that was showing 5 free remotes rather than 1. Others started to place orders based on this information knowing it was an error and were waiting to see what happens.
Congrats to the people who ended up with 6 remotes as DSE may have been slow to react to the error. Unfortunately many people were not so lucky and i can understand your frustrations after hearing people receiving 6.
What i don't understand is a lot of peoples orders are on "back order" and remotes have been "partially delivered" and DSE still continue selling the remotes online (they must have plenty of stock).
obviously, they are only putting it on "back order" because there is no other status to put it as. They aren't going to put "delivered" because they don't want to honour the deal. Nor are they going to make it "cancelled" without notifying us and causing a war etc. LOL
called them today and same response. The DSE customer service staff was talking like queen over me. LOL. so sick of it. Anyone gona take this to ACCC?
PS: I agreed with most of what Bargainaholic said. just few clarifications
there are some people who were trying to take advantage of the system error, however for those who tried to amend the bonus quantities from x5 to x1(not gona be many but I'm sure there are a few) will rather be considered as having genuine incentive to take this offer? but then since the system offered them more than they are entitled to and this error can not be corrected from consumer's side,a simply question, why not?
the way DSE handling this matter is a joke, they shipped out full quantities stated on the order to a few and then lying to majority of the customer " there is nobody getting 6", " one in million chance" and then a fully turn back on us after so called full investigation of term and conditions by their legal teams." you are welcome to take further actions to ACCC". Pathetic. I honestly will place no faith on them no more, not much in the past anyways : ) Indeed I will be more than happy to hear a "No" from them in the first place via proper communication rather than being treated in this hilarious way. So i am not hesitated to go further.
3 i am not a legal expert, but i do suspect the validity of their claim and i am in serious doubt of recalling orders from some of us as everything is matched on the invoice, let ACCC be the judge of all of these then. Count me in!
Any idea how long claims to ACCC take to be looked into and all?
Call Fair Trading 13 32 20 and let them know what happened to you.
They will probably direct you here to lodge a complaint online:
http://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/icms-public/complaint/regi…Should be resolved one way or another within 30 days.
Got my 2 blue remotes today..
Will make a call later today, and try my luck at complaining. :)
30 days seems to much. not going to bother with it anymore. good luck to the rest of you guys, i'll be returning mine.
damn it i keep getting double posts >.<
does anyone living in Sydney lucky get 6 wii remotes and want to sell 2 Wii remotes, please let me know
i intend to buy 2 wii remote
Lodged a complaint to ACCC, see how it goes.
Thanks for keeping us updated.
For those who only received 2 Wii Remotes, has Dick Smith contacted you and offer you a gift voucher as a gesture of good will?
No they haven't.
Yes, they offered either a $20 Dick Smith voucher, or an unspecified discount on any other item from Dick Smith. If I said what I wanted, they would tell me the discount they would apply.
It seems to me completely unfair; the only compensation from Dick Smith for their mistake, is for me to spend EVEN MORE MONEY with Dick Smith.
I tried to negotiate for the extra Wii Remotes, and they said it is absolutely NOT AN OPTION.
When did they contact you?
Friday.
Did anyone else get an offer? If so… what?
We are so annoyed, we are going to give back the remotes for a full refund and use the voucher at Woolworths.
Dick Smith offered me a $25 voucher. I was originally told by their customer service that for people who received full order, Dick Smith will contact the buyer regarding the extra items received, but I don't think this is the case anymore, as they decided they'll not attempt to recover these items. Also just got a call from ACCC, I've mentioned to them the compensation from Dick Smith, the mistake their made, deceiving responses from customer service, and fact that some orders were shipped in full. They have this case recorded, but not sure how they'll investigate this case. I guess for people who want to take this further, lodge a complaint to ACCC so that they'll understand the severity of this case. They got back to me in 3 working days~!
Bought the blue ones on 30th Oct, status still says "Your order is being processed.", "You will be contacted by the courier to confirm the exact date of this delivery". So they don't even bothered to deliver the 2x wii mote now ? Do I have to wait until Christmas ?! Goddammit!
Comments work!
Just missed it…
why is the expired deal here?
Still available :)
I just went to the po and picked up my wiimotes (2 blue) they look real nice and the kids are happy:)
