What do people actually use these for?
emergency reading light using a power bank or use it to illuminate a laptop's keyboard if it lacks backlighting.
I actually use them when it's dark, so I can see.

they are pretty damn bright..
i use them for movie lighting.. watching a movie and u dont want the lights on but u want some sort of light on the because the tv is burning your eyes out.

Have you thought about lowering the brightness on the TV?
never!! i will not alter the settings that my tv has deemed movie perfect. if i darken it and there is a dark scene in the movie. i will spend the whole movie wondering if im seeing less in that dark scene because i manually made it darker than the director intended that scene to be! sir, your a mad man!
You can also use it as a cheap makeshift bedside lamp if you have USB power near you. It's bright enough to do the job.

Bought one last time and it was DOA. Opened an dispute with Paypal and Gearbest offered to refund or resend a new one. I opted for a new one and Gearbest said they couldn't resend the item unless I closed the dispute first. I closed the dispute and never heard from Gearbest again. Lesson learned.
What a bargain you got for that lesson. ;)
Talk to them again, Gearbest is very good in keeping their customers happy.

They make good nightlights for kids and aren't at all expensive to leave on all night.

When you think of the fact we all have phones with flash lights these days, something like this only has limited convenient uses. Most of the time it's simply quicker to just pull out your phone.
Personally I got a few to put around the house on power banks for lighting during power outages (they spread the light quite well tbh), but other than that they'll just be night lights at this stage.

These are actually good reading lights combined with a Xiaomi battery (or any other battery). Very bright and white with 5 levels of brightness and a dedicated switch. I think these were $10 12 months or so ago. Even at the full price with postage you can find a few good uses.
In hotel rooms without good white light, these could be handy for reading or typing.
Snooze and lose for me, but 3 out of 7 isn't too bad.

They have 5 brightness levels and it's actually quite bright. A lot brighter than I expected. Much safer and cleaner during a blackout than candles.
