Just as good, but better value. and for $2.50 you can add a snag on bread with sauce.

    • Forgot one of the A's on that second link.
Just wondering if anyone else has been having issues with the Vartas lately? I used to swear by them when I was living in Brisbane. Since moving to NSW the ones at my local Bunnings are terrible. May just be old stock sitting around at my store but they are barely lasting a quarter of the time they used to.

  • Disposables in bulk. Lol.

  • I no longer touch Duracell's at all as they are well known to leak (have experienced it on many occasions)

  • Guys, I think promoting disposable betteries is socially irresponsible….there are millions of Eneloops waiting for you out there.
Even Aldi has decent LSD NMH batteries at a decent price, why waste money and support the creation of 'disposable' landfill contaminants.

    • depends what they're used for.
Remote controls they're great, my fetch tv remote has the original vartas for nearly 3yrs. disposalable batteries are less toxic then rechargables. So it depends on the application.

      • Yes, they can last. As you say depends on the application.
Bulk disposables generally lead to bulk use and much more landfill.
Rechargables being more toxic depends on how you dispose of them and the overall effect of much less being disposed x the increased toxicity - net effect, better or no?
        Personally we don't use disposables.
I save up all my used batteries, SLA/LiIon/NMH/NiCd (yes still a few in service) and take them to a battery place where they can be disposed of responsibly.

  • Bought these a while back ago and they last no where as long as the ones from Coles/ Woolworths.
