Can you please clarify, whether "$35.00 deal" gets FREE Express Shipping as well?

According to the website, and the title of this deal, seems like the FREE express delivery only applies to $59.95 deal

    • +1

AFAIK they have always used Auspost express satchels.

    • "Price inclusive of shipping anywhere in Australia. Whole Beans Only."

    • +1

Also applies to all standard website orders over $50 and also the $35 deal posted :)

  • Hi,
Wondering how long will this be up for?

    • +2

Deal expiry can be found at the bottom of the description.

    • 1 month unless you guys drink me out of the coffees :) ☕☕☕☕☕

  • Hi Rep, I am interested in buying freshly-roasted beans, but I only make one cup (2 shots) each day. Would appreciate your advice please as to whether I should buy only 2 x 480g bags at a time, or 4 x 480 bags. Obviously I don't want to buy too much at a time if approx. 2 kg will not stay fresh, given my modest daily consumption.

    • +2

usual double shot uses around 18 - 21g of bean. So a bag of 480g should last you 24 - 26 days. If I were you, I would just buy 1 bag, 2 max. I would not go 4 bags and expect the bean to stay fresh after 3.5 months.

    • +2

mmm yeah depends how strong you like your coffee or how much of a perfectionist you are with the extraction :)

Maybe start with 2 x 480g and see how you go. You can always increase later. Freshest for 1 month

  • Hey MB! Paying by paypal doesnt let me request my usual picture :( I should know this by now, but can you excuse my ignorance and include one! thanks!!

    • I'll try my best but it may have already been dispatched :( Depends how efficient the packing team were! Don't worry though if you missed your animal drinking coffee I'll think of a way of making it up to you soon :)

Always a good deal, thank Manna!

    • Most welcome :) and same to you! Have a great weekend

  • Hi there,

Are these roasted to order or have they been bulk roasted at the start of the month?

I wouldn't want to order these in 2 weeks time if they've would be almost a month old…

    Andy

    • We roast daily so Oabargain orders are never more than a few days roasted before dispatch max :) Sometimes the 1st bag you get stuck into on arrival may even be a bit too fresh as coffee benefits from 5-7 days to degas as a general rule of thumb.

All standard website orders are fresh roasted to order

      • thanks - that is perfect.

So the bags have roast dates marked?

        • +1

No need to mark roast dates as all fresh roasted and shipped out within a day or 2 :)

  • -2

@Store Rep: When did you roast it and send em out?
I received sealed bag without a label of date of roast and beans are not fresh and taste very low quality.

I am sorry I never shop here again.

    • +5

I'm sorry you are not enjoying the coffee. Please read the statement above. All coffee that leaves our warehouse is fresh roasted to order and therefore we don't need to date the bags!

As we ship express it is possible that you can even receive within 24hrs of roasting sometimes which means that the first bag of beans to be opened can even be a bit too fresh as they benefit from a few days of degassing.

These coffees are specialty grade single origins traceable back to the farms directly and drunk regularly by our cafes and customers I roasted all 4 batches myself and although I can understand that perhaps the occasional rogue batch is possible (we would discard if identified) it was certainly not the case for all 4 coffees on offer here and they were roasted separately. The El Salvador is actually quite a high end coffee cupping at nearly 88 and not particularly cost effective for me to send out under these deals but we have been sourcing more expensive specialty coffees recently.

Coffees are subjective as are roast profiles or what people are used to growing up etc or exposed to in different countries, but brewing methods and baristering are critical! The farming and the processing of coffee are the most important first step much like fresh ingredients when cooking. the roasting is just knowing how to apply the thermodynamics in a way to highlight certain qualities but even with the best coffee in the world(subjective) it could be butchered to a state of being undrinkable by a barista or somebody that hasn't educated themselves on how to brew to their liking or suit the bean.

I'm not saying that this is the case necessarily here but rather than just casting accusations of no substance which in reference to the freshness is just not true, perhaps you could shoot me an email with some more information on exactly what it is that you are referring to or why you are not liking the coffee and I will try to help you.

Please let me know how you are brewing and drinking it etc what coffee you are used to drinking or normally buy and what exactly you didn't like about the coffees or characteristics that lead you to your conclusion? I'm More than happy to personally try to be of assistance or resolve an issue with you by email if you provide some information :)

We have a lot of great customers that have supported us over the years and we know that it's a 2 way relationship!! In fact our industry and how we do business is all about forming good relationships.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance. Simon

Hello, good to see you again :) :) :)

And what beans! The Colombian Popoyan Reserve were absolutely exquisite, holy dooley.

  • Fast shipping and good deal :)
Unfortunately, is wasnt possible to receive a small bag as replacement of the lucky dip to try the Geisha but lucky enough found another roaster who is keen to send me a sample with my coffee order. Apparently, the Geisha is something special so looking forward to trying those.

    • Hi :) A lot of the gieshas we carry can cost us in excess of $200 per kg and then will lose upto 20% of weight during the roast process. Due to these costs and being a smaller family boutique coffee roasting company I'm sure you can understand that we obviously don't roast big batches of geisha at a time as everything we send out is fresh roasted to order.

This would therefore require individual small batch roasting to specific roast profiles and is best suited for perhaps a pour over method drunk black. You are more than welcome to purchase the geisha through our standard website listing and I will personally roast to your brewing requirements but is not available through Ozbargain deals

Have a great week. Kind Regards
      Simon

      • No Worries Simon, as I mentioned in the email, just a small batch (25g) would have been nice as an opening to new beans. Anyway, I found another local roaster who send me a batch last weekend and it was amazing so I placed an order with them :)

  • A great deal — the first load of manna beans went through the grinder on the weekend - Colombia Popayan Reserve.

Fast shipping and great customer service. Super responsive to emails.

    Delish. Thanks manna!

    • Thanks heaps and glad to welcome you onboard :) Have a great week. Stay hydrated and enjoy the caffeination ;)

      • I seem to get a slightly smaller shot from the El Salvador vs the Colombian beans over a 30s period. Its definitely a slower brew in comparison.

Not as big, but boy does it make up for it in flavour. Completely agree with the tasting notes on the pack :)

  • New deal soon? Also any cacoa beans left?

    • Hi ben1103,

New deal should start sometime this week, most likely tomorrow.

Sorry, we have totally sold out of cacao beans and is not looking at sourcing any for the time being. :)

      Thank you and kind regards,
      Flora
