Title amended to Xbox One S

Pretty killer bundle for $350. Can't believe the XB1X pre-order is $650 without any games or bonuses. Will keep an eye on the post xmas sales.

    • +1

Yep they're pricing themselves out of the Ausdie market. It's $749 in NZ!!!

      • You'd think they would have learned from the last one…. don't give a head start to the PS!
        Greedy M$.

    • I just keep hoping they're going to drop a free code to a game as like a surprise on launch, but if they do, knowing MS, it'll probably be a 30 day trial to Xbox game-pass… if anything at all that is

  • +1

This would be so tempting if a console 4 times more powerful wasn't releasing in 2 months and if I didn't already have a gaming PC that also plays xbox exclusives now anyways.

    • +2

There aren't that many Xbox Play Anywhere games. I count 16 with 15 more promised here.

      https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/xbox-play-anywhere

So "plays xbox exclusives" is only true if you're interested in a handful of exclusives.

My family's still on the 360 and holding out for a One X. I don't expect it to live up to the hype, but unless these consoles come down to half of what they are now, why put money into the older tech?

      • Same. Kids happy with xBox360, but got XB1 S as X is quite expensive. Will use S till next year when X's price is settled down.

      • Personally, yep I am really only interested in those. FH3 and onwards good enough for me. However, I do appreciate the ability to play 360 games on it. I still have a 360 hooked up though, acts as DVD player currently. I know right, what is this ancient DVD technology.. No doubt I may very well pick up the X but certainly not until well into next year when it goes on sale.

  • This is not the S is it? Does not seem so..

    • +1

Click the link, it definitely states it down below.

      • Thanks, heading on landing page also didn't state that it was the S, however scrolling down you see that it is. Good deal, just wish I could use a 5% off code or something!

Remember it's the 1TB version too, so a bit less need for external storage.

The recent ~$260 consoles have been the 500gb.

        • @Putnum:

Good point! Most the recent deals were 500Gb versions, making this one pretty attractive.

          @Putnum:

$90 for 0.5 TB is attractive?

        • @syousef: Not sure why u were downvoted. You can get much cheaper USB HDD for 500 GB or 1 TB additional.
Higher price can also be due to latest game titles.

        • -1

@Gaggy: well the other deals had Destiny 2..

But either way, if you're getting external storage for a console you want one that can read and write pretty quickly for gaming, like the seagate game drive.. so you can't just get any cheapo.

        • @Putnum: XBox 1 S has faster drives in it?

        • @Gaggy:

I looked into that. Apparently USB 3 is slightly faster than the internal interface. That came as a surprise to me. Total opposite of the USB 2 interface on the Xbox 360 which was way slower than internal drives. Google it. People have done load time comparisons etc.

        • @syousef: Thanks. That means paying for 1 TB extra is not worth it

        • @Gaggy:

One thing: I have no practical experience with what can and can't be done on the internal vs external drive. I can't think of a reason you'd want a bigger drive, but someone who knows first hand might want to chime in.

Anyone know if they will honour this same price in store?

    • +1

      Quote from the page:

"ONLINE: Shipping fees apply. Not to be combined with any other offer. Transaction prices are for online bundle fulfilment only and cannot be honoured in-store. Products may ship separately."

So, according to this, it is online only and will not be honoured in-store.

    • +1

Saw the same bundle in the catalogue instore so you should be able to get it as well.

  • "Transaction prices are for online bundle fulfilment only and cannot be honoured in-store." Who knows though, might be worth checking out in-store?

  • This is an awsome deal, realy, fif18 is worth a fair bit on its own, plus a few more games,…

although, expect some really great deals later, with extra controller, and some movies and a few more games for $399 for xmas and xbox one launch.

    • I doubt, it will go below 300 mark or XB1 S 500 GB going below $240 mark.
Boxing days says recently have been shite.

  • Happy to buy both NBA and FIFA off someone to bring the price down. Pm me if interested

  • Decisions decisions.. Is it better to just wait for Xbox One X and future proof myself?

    • Yep. In 4 years they will b a bargain too.

xbox one, xbox one s and soon xbox one x

    -_-

    • We need an Xbox One E so we can put them all together and have MA18+ gaming ;-)

Well I guess you could sandwich an Xbox 360 E in between in the meantime ;-)

Sorry for the stupid question. Is it download code for the games?

    • +1

The Forza Horizon 3 yes, rest of them individual discs I believe. Make sure you add them all in your cart.

I bought the recent forza horizon3+destiny2+overwatch paid $379. Should have wait for this :-(

  • New to the console world..if Ive got a smart TV can the Xbox hard drive be used to record/playback/pause TV shows?

    • No. There were plans to release a PVR accessory for Xbox, but they were scrapped.

      • Your Smart TV won't interact with any console.

However, you can buy a TV add on for your Xbox (approx $30?) which gives your Xbox the ability to watch Free to Air digital TV, and play/pause. Unfortunately you can't set it up to record shows.

It's worth noting that the apps on the Xbox are pretty good (YouTube is pretty average), but you can use Plex, Netflix, Stan, Spotify and others on there. The performance is good, and not laggy like I've experienced with some TV's.

        Up to you though.

  • what could the games + 1TB be flogged for ?

    1TB =~ $100 ?
    games ~ $40 each ?

    • +1

I wouldn’t be removing the internal 1TB HDD

      Forza 3 Download $50 (including Micro-machines add-on)
      FIFA Disc $50
      NBA Disc $50

~$50 for the next month or so as new releases then down to $40 by Xmas

  • If anybody's interested in selling on NBA and/or Fifa for even more savings, please PM :)

  • That is a great deal.

  • is this physical copy of games or DLC?

  • Tempting… but I think I might wait for Black Friday deals and titles that are more to my taste. Don't mind the idea of Forza or FIFA, but NBA looks like Pay2Win and a lot more titles about to hit us. Plus needing to go in and see if the local store will do the same deal to avoid the shipping costs…

  • Disable rf board and wifi and go wired for safe nsa gaming.

  • Grabbed one from store in Sydney CBD. I don't play FIFA 18 and NBA 2K18 so would like to sell them, PM me if you are interested.

  • If anyone wants NBA or Forza, send a PM
