Good budget aircon for the coming summer, 4/4 star rating (heating/cooling) and 5 years warranty. Should be powerful enough for a large bedroom or up to 20m2. The price after reduction is almost on par with a 2.5kw system. Too bad the equivalent 2.5kw is out of stock at the moment.

I recently bought a Mitsubishi AC from Good Guys. Their installation person charge $150 to remove and dispose the old unit and $800 to install the new unit.
rofl are you for real?
As real it can get.
About $800 is normal.. expect more for non back-to-back install
Got a chinese guy from the local newspaper to do ours and cost $600 to remove and install.
I got a homeless guy from the street to do it for a Value Meal.
@Jollystacker: that sounds about right from my past experience as well, but depends on the complexity of the install.
Not when power etc is already run from the older unit. The install is easier.
@Scab:
But did he feel like installing the A/C afterwards?Yes but I had to upsize.
@assailantsky: Yup took about 2 hours to do the entire job and everything is still good.
@Scab: yeah it was delicious and the box is comfy too.
@Scab: Was your 3rd cousin booked out? 🙄
Geez, that's pretty expensive.
Can someone recommend a good installer for western suburbs of Melbourne please? A good installer should charge Ozbargain rates, so needs to be pretty affordable.
Is it only available for pickup in Sydney?
Think the postage is $40, but I haven't tried that option as I chose to pick up.
Does anyone know an AC installer ???
