    Also, I wouldn't call that a review… it's a promo.

  • Got one. Hopefully it ships out and arrives super quick. Didn't get the geekbuying deal because its a pre-order

Bangood and super quick delivery are mutually exclusive to each other. Best of luck though.

      • Thanks:) Hope I dont wish I got it from Geek instead bahaha

Its just weird tho, so many of my ebay items from China are hitting my front door in less than 2 weeks. Yet stuff from Gearbest is taking ages. Some stuff havent even been packed or shipped out after 10 days!

      • My last order from Banggood took 1.5 weeks for delivery to Sydney using their "Air Parcel Registered" postage method. Box had an eParcel/Australia Post label so it looks like it was reshipped when it reached Australia. Was pleasantly surprised.

Probably depends a lot on whether something is actually in stock, though.

Saw a few posts at various sites saying BG has been in good form, so took the punt on them for the WIHA. Love it when stuff doesnt take 4-6 weeks or more

    • Didn't get the geekbuying deal because its a pre-order

Strangely, my order shipped out the next day.

      • It's no longer a preorder.

        • I just noticed that myself! I ordered when it was a pre-order, and it shipped out the next day anyway.

        • @eug: Sometimes stock arrives earlier than expected 😊

      • It allegedly shipped out the next day ;)

And now I feel like I gipped myself out of $1+

Anyone that does the exact math gets negged!

  • I wonder what the OP's definition of 'review' is.

    AU$31.54 for me

  • The handle is alloy? I think these will be very light duty if so?

    • The handle unit seems to be an anodised aluminium alloy. Although I honestly doubt it would be damaged through standard use. These tools aren't really designed for intensive usage—the handle doesn't include a hole for additional torque. I got mine for computer & phone entry mostly.
It's worth noting that the bits appear to be more durable than those included in the iFixit Techtool set, and they fit the functionally superior handle included in that set.

Yea i would not over torque these. I am more worried about the bits filing down the alloy handle after a bit of time of taking bits in and out. Its weird why they would use aluminum. The harder tool steel will wear the alloy out fairly easy (i think). Its like rubbing steel across wood what will wear down first (extreme example).

        • The harder tool steel will wear the alloy out fairly easy (i think).

The bits are magnetically attached and not friction-fit, so there will be barely any rubbing action between the bit and the aluminium handle.

There is a lot of surface area contact between the bit and the handle compared to the bit and the screw, so you will strip your screw heads before chewing through the handle.

In any case drivers that use 4mm bits would have been designed for lower-torque applications, so I don't think wear on the handle will be a concern at all if used properly. Just hope the person who assembled the device didn't use permanent thread locker. :)

does this steal and send my information back to china's server?

    • +12

Yeah, sure. The handle has a motion-powered battery, a 3G modem, an inertial measurement unit and an NFC reader inside it, and each bit has an embedded NFC tag.

China wants to know what you're screwing, and for how long.

      • lol funny guys

      • And powered by itty bitty magnets

    • +3

Yeah it monitors how often you screw.

These should be selling @ half the price

I'm starting tho wonder if Xiaomi has realised how on trend they are at the moment that they are pumping out different products left right and centre?

  • 3 hours after ordering, I get a shipped email. Good stuff! Just hope 1. Its actually been shipped 2. Arrives just as quick

  • Was $30.65 for me

    • Just bought it. It was $30.09 for me.

  • (never mind)

The promo code "DONCU7" took 9% off, bringing it down to $26.62. (Got the promo code from RetailMeNot). Aaaaaahh nooo. I managed to buy the 21Pcs Wowbits set instead. Botheration!

    • Aaaargh!

      • Fortunately managed to cancel the order. Got the REAL thing this time!

For anyone that wants to know.

Package arrived today (Sydney). Approx 16 days, not bad at all. Well packed.Props to Banggood!

This WIHA set gets a ginormous thumbs up. Have tested it a little, and it feels SOLID. Click open case, magnetic attachment for the bits are a nice touch.

Also bought the Daniu set on a whim, for comparison purposes (cheap v less cheap). Its really not bad at abt a quarter of the cost of the WIHA, not sure how it wld go with beefy jobs but it'll be fine for most rudimentary tasks.

    • Got mine too. A good feeling of quality. The bits have "Wiha" stamped on them.
