Mine your address and name etc to compensate the loss I guess?

I got a message today saying my 0.01 towel had been posted … with tracking info … I'm going to be really annoyed if it goes missing.

Apparently Australia post have to cover the deficit in postage cost … hence why our postage prices go up each year to try and cover the deficit from China post allowing Chinese sellers to offer rates this cheap

Enjoy your 1 cent items , you'll end up paying the difference in a postage increase

      • +4

Luckily I only use AusPost to receive mail not to send it.

      • So why don't they change the amount they charge Chinese sellers?

        • I think the Chinese government subsidises postage costs through China Post.

      • Apparently Australia post have to cover the deficit in postage cost

I dont understand why would any business allow this.

        • +1

It's an international agreement of some sort between postal services

        • +1

          This would help.

          https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Postal_Union

          The UPU established that:

There should be a uniform flat rate to mail a letter anywhere in the world
Postal authorities should give equal treatment to foreign and domestic mail
Each country should retain all money it has collected for international postage.

      • Not sure why negged because what you're saying is correct. Remember seeing something about this a couple years ago

        • -2

Cause it's the truth and people choose to deny it

I remember sending parcels for ~$5 a few years back , now same size parcel over $10.

        • @easternculture: Big postage must be negging the comments to hide their agenda!

        • @easternculture: Yeah, Australia Post had to find $5.6 million each year to pay CEO Ahmed Farqhour, so they doubled postage rates.

    5% cash rewards….. Bargain.

last time i tried to put one of these into the usb port of my pc and i heard a static sound and my computer completely shut off. I thought I managed to break my 1k pc over a few cents

      • +1

        Step 3: Buy new PC.

  • Still have mine from when i bought them for 9cents. Still have no damn use for these

    • +1

      Man you got ripped off!

      • +1

  • +1

I like Rosegal, they default to the free shipping option when checking out. Just make sure you untick the $1 insurance box though.

    • thanks.

I think they make money with those who forgot to untick that box.

  • Be careful, domain certificate is not trusted.,

    • +2

yeah. I lost 2 cents with them already!

  • Managed to place an order to a UK address again (like the cleaning cloth the other day) - though both are still showing "processing" but they've taken my money. It'll be interesting to see if it works!

  • +2

Expired during checkout process… (saved me 1 cent!)

  • +1

It went through to the payment screen but then reverted back to $1.26, I clicked out and now it says it's expired when I try to re-enter the code?

  • +1

    Ahhh registered and coupon expired!!

  • what do you really use them for? I have some from few months back - just not sure whats the practical use.

    • +1

I live in an area where we have power outages occasionally, (too many trees), they're good to stick in my ROMOSS power banks and put in a couple of rooms or take camping and use them while prepping food at night.

Besides these I also have some that are touch controlled, on/dim/off, which are good.

Mine arrived today, bright little buggers they are… Not sure if they arrived for Oz customers yet though.

  • Got mine yesterday. Certainly bright, white light. Heaps worth the 1c.

For anyone wondering, the Xiaomi USB light is warm light compared to this one and is brighter. I thought that warm light wouldn't look as good when using in a darkened room but it was surprisingly better than the mini. The mini is comparable to a phone torch in brightness.

    Got mine today.
