  • Wouldn't you need to bring in the original coupon from the Samboys chips?

  • It says at Participating Hungry Jacks. I assume since no stores are listed then all Hungry Jacks stores will accept the voucher. If not please just participating stores.

    • There are no store exclusions printed on the back of voucher.

woolworths have samboy chips on special for $1.99 til tomorrow and you get three vouchers on the pack for the burgers so still a good buy

      • thought you had to hand over the whole strip.. ok more for the win then!

        • +1

lol.. why did i think you had to hand over the whole strip.. facepalm

PLEASE NOTE: don't print this voucher, you will need the original coupon(s) from the front of the chip packet!

  • I made an account just to comment at this for the public. You guys do know that Hungry Jack's has had this deal forever right? It's like an urban legend but if you go to say 2-For-1 you guy 2 for the price of one whopper, but unlike other legends it actually works. Something about they made a word of mouth promotion YEARS ago but they never said it would ever expire. This is obviously not advertised and there is a catch: it can only be an ORIGINAL Whopper, no cheese, no doubles/bacon, no w/ meals, no extras etc. Don't believe it? Try it for yourself.

    • "It’s like an urban legend but if you go to say 2-For-1 you guy 2 for the price of one whopper"

      I don't get it

      • I think he means "you get* 2 for the price of one"

… are you sure you won't just get strange looks from the cashier?

        • +3

It's true. Last time I check a couple of years ago, it still worked, see http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/10001#comment-45589

2 burgers for the price of 1 at Hungry Jacks

Just say you want a “2-4-1 XXX Burger”

Well, the story to this is apparently a few years ago, Hungry Jacks ran a promotion and forgot to specify an expiration date to the deal. This deal was accepted without the need to bring in a coupon. The theory is that instead of making an announcement that this is a mistake, they have decided to just let it run. Doesn’t work in food courts or shopping centres but should be accepted in all other Melbourne branches. Doesn’t work with cheeseburgers but does with Whopper, Whopper with cheese, Double Whopper, Bacon Deluxe, Baguettes, Aussie Burger, and Grilled Chicken.

It is specifically confirmed at the following:
Chapel st/malvern rd, Swanston St, Hoddle st, Nepean Hwy, Camberwell, Russell St/Bourke st, Bulleen Plaza, Kings Way, Elgar rd/Burwood Hwy,Whitehorse Rd, Southern Cross station, RMIT, Keysborough, Parkmore, Noble Park.

Have tried this a few times at different locations. Always works.

EDIT: This doesn't appear to work anymore

          haha quoting yourself quoting yourself.

Have you tried it recently? Would be great if it works in Sydney. Stopped eating their grilled chicken burger (which I love) once I stopped seeing their 2 for 1 vouchers in the mail

        • Anyone want to confirm this still works?

        • There is a section on the register, permanently there, for all the coupon options. When you hand a coupon over to the dude, they just chuck em away. So unless you get somebody who actually cares about the stores profit, like the store manager, its almost a guaranteed thing, especially if it looks like arguing about it will hold up the line

      • Every Hungry Jack's Restaurant in Australia has received a memo in the last 6 months from when nova radio made an on air annoncment about this issue.

The memo read something along these lines

" THERE IS AN URBAN MYTH CURRENTLY CIRCULATING, CUSTOMERS MAY ASK FOR A 2 4 1 DEAL IN WHICH THEY WANT 2 WHOPPERS FOR THE PRICE OF 1 WITH OUT A VOUCHER.
THIS IS NOT TRUE, NO STAFF MEMBER IS TO GIVE A CUSTOMER FREE OR DISCOUNTED FOOD WITH OUT A COPY OF THE VOUCHER (ENTERTAINMENT, SAMBOY, LOCAL COMMUNITY SPECIALS) STAPLED TO THE RECIPT AND PLACE ON THE MANAGERS CLIPBOARD.
CUSTOMERS MAY QUESTION YOU ON WHY THIS 2 4 1 DEAL IS NOT BEING ACCEPTED, IF SO CALL THE MANAGER TO DEAL WITH THE SITUATION.
THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A VOUCHER CIRCULATED WITH NO EXPIRY, AND WE WILL NOT BE GIVING FREE FOOD TO ANYONE WITH OUT A VOUCHER.

this memo is placed on almost every staff noticeboard and in almost every managment office.

Think it ended last year somewhere in Aug/Sep.

1372 calories for 2 burgers, more then half a days worth of calories in 1 meal haha

Does any one confirm, if this voucher can be use for Veggie burger ? or just for the whopper?
    Thanks

    • Good question. The HJ Vegie Burger is one of the best burgers out there.

    • Technically just the Whopper: "Buy One Whopper, Get One Free!"
You may be lucky and get someone who is happy to give you another burger of equal/lesser value instead of the second Whopper but they may say "Computer says No!" ;-)

  • Good deal, but it's a bit meh because I constantly get 4 to 5 coupon booklets for Hungry Jacks in my spam mail. I forget to use those, this won't be different either.

I don't want to be relegated to two Whopper's anyway.

    • +1

Mind posting them in OzBargain? I love HJs, but would never buy one without coupon :)

      • I dont think you can use scanned coupon booklets.. but HJ's are pretty liberal with their coupons so maybe you can

  • 241 works only in melb?
if only it worked in syd :(

    • I think he was joking, still doesn't hurt to try next time you ar over there.

      • it does work, only for melbourne though.
Its been confirmed many times on ozbargain…

        • Why only Melb I wonder and not other cities?

        • -1

Except for sydney, other cities aren't
          important! Zoom zoom zoom!

        • -1

Well of course it's not important - I don't live in Melb!
Not like I'm going to drive down to Melb for a free burger!

  • ill let you know if it works :P
not the first time i managed to hustle something out of nothing

    • Be awesome if it still works. Google told me nothing :(

  • +1

ooooooooooo……….. please let us know if it works!!!!

    droool

  • Heads up for those interested. Tried what mod neil said at the store corner Latrobe and Swanston (Melb) without success.

    • Thanks for the heads up, I'll edit my comment. That's too bad, was a great late night deal.
