Looks like a good deal for this Cree torch, coupon is good for 500 uses. Most deals around the US$1.50-$2 mark, same as this deal I believe.

  • Great price. Shame its one per account, normally I'd buy a few :-)

  • Paid $1.99 US to Lightinthebox yesterday.
Lightinthebox you really ripped me off :)

    • I bought 2 from Lightinthebox about 90 mins ago… srlsy gahh

      • I bought 3

        • Broden, is that you?

        • @jackspratt: bought 10

  • Can you actually use AA batteries in these? The comments seem to think not.

    • +1

I have several similar flashlights as well as this exact model posted and they all use AA batteries just fine.

    • Yes i have about 5 of these.

      • +1

        Do you live in Victoria?

    • there's a video on the page pretty sure that looks like a AA battery

    • I have what I think is the same as these.
They work ok with AA but definitely much better with a 14500.

  • 600 lumens? Bright enough?

    • +7

      its 600 CHINESE lumens

    • 600 chumens = ~100 real lumens. depends what you want to do with it really

  • +2

    buy now, ask question later…

  • How long does it take to deliver? One month?

    • probably at least 1 month

  • these are not very good torches - when you "zoom" with it to narrow the beam you can actually see the led diode pattern in the light almost like one of those torches as a kid that show a shape in the light lol

    • +6

      I don't have a problem with that, it's $1.24.

  • +2

They're okay but you're really just getting what you pay for (although I paid about A$7.50 for two). Not a genuine Cree LED so the tint and brightness may vary. If you don't mind your torches having blue tints and the chance of an off-centre LED then they're not too bad. I didn't like using these for night-time walks but they could be handy if you need a light stored somewhere like a shed or around the kitchen. Both of mine worked and didn't flicker.

Probably make good gifts for those who could use a torch and won't pay attention to the finer details.

  • lucky me saved $0.01 and got it for $1.23 somehow.

I had the code applied, in cart, standard shipping selected then it got autoswitched to a different shipping method when I proceeded. Went back to change it and the code had expired. Thanks Gearbest for your crappy website design.

      Why the downvotes?

Same sort of thing here except code applied ok but they took 3.50 from Paypal.

Cancelled order and waiting on refund.

      • +1

Yep that's exactly what happened to me, but I cancelled at the paypal page.
It is absolutely a legit grievance to have your cart total say one price, then when you click through to paypal its gone up.

I wonder if the downvotes on my comment are from gearbest puppet accounts trying to "manage" their image.
Interestingly all those downvotes resulted my downvote against this deal being removed.

        • That's a thought. Still, don't see the need to neg the deal but their site could be more efficient - it's the age of computers after all.

I trust they will cancel and refund for me. Don't see they have any reason or mileage not to.

        • @JH100:

Today, Sunday, they say they have shipped it instead of cancelling and refunding.

That's the last time I get anything from GearBest.

The batteries would cost more than the light.
Just curious why people still use such torches when you have phones with flash these days?

    • I use them on my bike they work pretty good and gives me something to use my eneloops in.

    • I use them for spotting for night time macro photography. Light enough to hold between my teeth when necessary.

I also keep one with the 3 modes in my car for if I break down and have to walk dark roads at night - had to use it once. The strobe catches a drivers attention.

Cos everyone has a crapload of Eneloops. Bonus is also so that we can have a torch or multiple torches in every room, JUST in case a Walking Dead scenario eventuates.

I've been waiting for a 0.99c deal from Gearbest for a Machete for ages. I'll be down for 10pcs

As if these don't come from LightInTheBox, hahahaahhhhhhhhhhhhh
    sorry

  • Gone again in less than 50 minutes

  • Are these brighter than a nitecore tip?

  • These are great torches and much better than the $1 ones on eBay.

  • +1
