Should go well with my iPhone X lol

    • +4

You should get two of them. That way if one fails, you can… go to backup.

      • This just made me think. How do you hard reset an iphone without a home button D<

        • I believe on the iPhone 7, it changed to the side button plus volume up, or something like that.

    • +1

      And/or iPhone 8 compatible too

    • +9

huh? Nice rant, so your saying any hardware improvements in a new phone model should be some how made available to the older versions too? Do you actually understand how wireless charging works?

There is no reason why you have to "throw away" your older smart phone, you can get a good 5 years of usefulness out of a phone these days

      • -1

Yes, I am saying we need to get our sh*t together as a society and make new additions to old tech as upgrades. 5 years is nothing.

        • 5 years ago I hadn't discovered ozbargain.

        • +2

And in this alternate world, stormii is eagerly awaiting his delivery of a wireless charging adapter for his Nokia 5110…

        • @eediot: I truely love the androgyny the internets gives me. I just cleaned out my tech crap box and found two old Nokias, several red, white yellow video cables and an IDE cable, I realised some of my parts are going on antiques. This is very real to me.

        • @pifts: 5 years ago i was ozbargain of one too. Still trawling the net everyday for bargains and freebies, but not getting much else done on the net. Now i use that time doing Udemy courses.

    • How do you propose they make them upgradeable? If you want a replaceable processor you lose your fancy thin phone, because they can't surface-mount it now. I'm assuming from your whinge that you'd like wireless charging? Well that's a coil that needs to go somewhere in the already space-restricted phone.. and how did you want it to connect to the power input? Expansion ports? Add more thickness.

When that's done - and Apple's considered how the now-serviceable phone affects the warranty - you'll come back here to bitch about your big clunky iPhone.

      • Google's Modular phone - Project Ara. Except it's dead. lol

        • Because consumers are cannibalistic. Sega dreamcast died too, so did betamax.

        • @stormii: Project Ara never made production

        • @bchliu: I probably would have bought it if it did.

        • @stormii: I personally wouldnt knowing how frail modular parts can be and the wear and tear over time will mean the parts will lose contact and connectivity along with an increasingly frail phone. Nice idea in concept but in practice is probably not great. I would have bought their Glass though if they bought it out properly to the public (yeah, I'm a Glasshole).

        • I love trying out new tech, but only at a beta price if you know what i mean, someones gotta push it to its limits to encourage development. I have backed the gaming industry as adult entertainment for 20 years, was laughed at for 15. Modular phones would be freaking awesome, especially with china pumping out parts 6 months behind (just in time for service and repairs). Standardised socketing across the board need to be implemented. its non-competitive practices and I'm dead sick of it.

Was waiting for the first Qi wireless deal to start popping up today.

We should see these much more of these now.

  • Might get one for my old Lumia 950 .

    • +5

The suspense is killing me. Please provide an update!

      • Nah, I am not getting one unless Meganinja also is getting one.

        • I am not going to get one , after thinking that my old slow charge will do , saving for a new phone next 2 years .

        • @Meganinja:

          Yay! Thanks.

I'm going to sleep. See yas.

  • Not compatible with s6?

    • bought this a few months ago and works with my s6 so you're all good.

  • I got one last time. Use it at work. It also works with the Samsung Active Fast charge adapter to give my S8+ Fast Wireless Charging. Though it does warm up a bit using that, so probably safer just using the slower Wireless Charging.

  • Don't know if the OP has different info, but the site says package includes wireless charger and warranty card, no mention of cable. I'm not sure if My cheapo usb micro cables will support the quick charge functionality, I've definitely had slower charging on dodgy cables in the past.

    • I bought one of these a while ago, it does come with a charge cable but I don't think I've used it, ended up using the cable that came with the wall charger which supports fast charging.

    • Don't know if the OP has different info, but the site says package includes wireless charger and warranty card, no mention of cable.

Scroll to the bottom of the description on that product page and you'll see the block of text the OP copied/pasted above. It mentions the cable.

      • Weight 95g

        Package Include:
        1 * BlitzWolf® BW-FWC1 Qi Wireless Charger
        1 * BlitzWolf® Warranty Card

That's what I'm reading? Very bottom of product description?

        • This is what I see.

        • That's weird. I just clicked on the link, but I'm using the mobile version. It honestly just has the lines without the cable mentioned. If I choose request desktop site, it adds a cable. Cool! Bargain restored!

  • How this compare with the Samsung chargers? Thanks

    • +1

Price, build quality etc. But it will work and if it's an overnight charge then charge efficiency isn't really an issue.

    • +1

Not sure about this one in particular, but my Tronsmart fast wireless charger has trouble charging my phone through the thick Quad Lock phone adaptor i have on mine. The genuine Samsung one has no problems though.

    • +2

Samsung looks better, slightly better quality and charges a bit faster but costs a lot more.
I bought the blitzwolf as it was my introduction to wireless charging and I didn't want the high cost of the Samsung if I ended up not using it.

Would highly recommend it if you want a decent wireless charger for a decent price.

      • Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated

    • +1

FWIW this is micro USB and Samsung one is USB-C (source: I have both)

      • +1

Only the new Samsung convertible one is USB-C. Last year's Samsung fast wireless chargers use micro USB.

        • +1

Ah ok, I've got the new one that has that little sliding stand thing. MicroUSB on the Blitzwolf is useful cause it's one less cable to carry when travelling.

  • Will this work on my Samsung S8

    • yes

    • I would say yes but it wouldn't support fast charging

      • Why not? The S8 supports fast wireless charging.

        • My bad. I thought this charger itself was just a Qi charger. On reading the title again, I noticed this is a Fast Qi charger, so it would support fast wireless charging on the S8.

    • -1

Yes it works and with fast charging with Samsung Galaxy S8, just make sure you use the Samsung Power Adapter.

      • any blitzwolf power adapter to recommend which has the fast/adaptive charging like the samsung travel adapter sthat the s8+ ships with? Am looking for a few spare for wireless chargers, other houses (mrs place) and work etc.

  • Undecided on this one…

  • code: CellAcc2
seems to still work get 15% off

This coupon is not available for limited offer products.

  • Is there a way to pick the speed of the charge on a Samsung s8?

    • I assume you mean wirelessly. Go to Settings, Advanced Features, Accessories and select it there.
You can also plug the wireless charger into a normal 5V 2A charger and it'll charge at "normal" speed.

      • Settings - Device Maintenance - Battery - "…" menu, top right of screen - Advanced Settings - Fast Cable Charging.
No option for Wireless charge speed.

        • Er, did you try what I mentioned above?

        • Yes, no 'Accessories' under 'Advanced Features'. I am running the latest stock firmware.
Hence my reply, for others who may be looking for the option.

        • @Quarn: Ah, you should have just said you didn't have that menu entry, rather than mention a different menu and saying it's not there.

          Is yours an Australian model?

        • @eug: Yes, have you updated to the latest version?

        • @Quarn: Yup, just got the update two days ago. Mine is a Telstra unit. The menu entry was always there though.

  • will this work with my samsung 6 edge ? EDIT clicked on link & answered my own question. God bless

  • Does this work with S7?

  • Does this work with the iPhone X/8?

  • Does this work with iphone 9?

      • Thanks. Bought one.

    Both Galaxy S7

  • confirmed received today. this does not fast charge my galaxy s8+ aus optus stock phone.

    anyone else having this problem?

  • Is there any way to turn the LEDs off at night? They are pretty damn bright in the middle of the night.

      • No, but I prefer a dark room.

        • I have a dark room when I close my eyes.

        • You must have very thick eyelids. I have a dark room when I turn off the light.

        • Hmmm, no I think just normal thickness.

  • +1
