    This is fantastic value!

  • I saw them on the shelf on Saturday, while the price tag was saying 1kg, all packets were 500 grams…

If the tag for 1KG is there, you can get a raincheck

      • yeah, definitely I can, but the weird thing was, that there were not any 1 kg pack for any of their production, only 500 grams packs. Probably will visit another store, just to check it out.

these are an obsolete item and been this price a few weeks, I tried getting a rain check as well, but they aren't getting any more, just the 500g.

    • Thanks OP, I have also managed to place an order a short while ago via the app, worst case will be a refund. Best I can hope for is a substitute 500grams

  • Dal is not made from yellow split peas but from Toor dal!

      ….and Bombay Duck isn't actually a duck.

      Your point being?

      • Trying to be smart eh?

        • No, of course not but we while we all know that a 'proper' dal is made using lentils, I've eaten similarly-tasting concoctions made from split peas.

The recipes I posted contained at least one 'dal' made from split peas……the topic of the thread. It was merely posted for an idea on how to use the said split peas. As I pointed out earlier, there are foods that are incorrectly labeled - there's even a spaghetti squash and spaghetti made from zucchini, carrot, etc., but we just accept and move on…….well, some of us do.

      • Of course but they're not a bargain.

      • That's cheap as well, awesome find!

  • Ok, for the anal among you……a split pea curry!
