Whats the difference between the Plus and the Evo Select

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XWZWYVP

    • +1

According to brief google research, there is no difference. Evo select is the same card but a special sku and colour just for Amazon.

      • If that's the case buy from amazon one is cheaper AND reliable source?
why would this be a good deal?

        • +1

Amazon's deal is around $65 AUD, so not cheaper.

        • +2

          @sm007h: I got 44.99 + $5.29 = $50.28( $62AUD )
$4ish more I rather trust Amazon.

        • +1

@Dnkei: I am not arguing about the merits whether the deal is good or not. I was just making a point that the Amazon deal was slightly more expensive.

        • And with GearBest, expect the item to turn in over two months.

  • +1

Wow~, it would be great for my GOPRO. Are they genuine?

    • +2

      That's ALWAYS the question.

I can't find a list on Samsungs site about who their stockists are…..

  • +5

As pointed out by Nik1977 the 64GB version is available for $27.57AU from GB as well as well if people wanted the smaller capacity instead.

Does anyone have experience in purchasing these cards from GearBest? Are they real or fakes?

  • Cheers OP, Porthos, Nik1977 and hamza23. Bought the 64 gig UHS-3 for the Q500 4K let's see how it goes.

If anyone is worried about authenticity
On Amazon similar price evo version not sure of the difference tho.

*just realised already mentions above whoops

  • +2

Would love to buy, but I just can't trust that this is real. Might end up with a $20 fake.

    • go with amazon, worked out to be around $4 more only

      • 7% price jack!

      • Thanks, went with Amazon for reassurance. Can't have dashcam footage die on me.

The one from Amazon (Evo Select) measures 90MB/s read speed and 60MB/s write speed.

  • 58 on tomtop and possibly 7.2% cash back with CR. As for authenticity, leverage PayPal if you land a fake. Prices aren't suspiciously cheap so I'm betting they're authentic

  • If they are real…it's a good price. I paid $10 more through shopping square @ ebay a couple months ago.

  • is AU$28.83 for the 64gb a good price?
    https://www.gearbest.com/memory-cards/pp_718139.html

  • Once you have it, how do you tell if it's genuine or a fake?

    • There's an App for that

      • name / link?

        • +1

Try SD Insight on Google Play, (only compatible with Android 6 and below).

Use a disk performance program (ATTO Disk, etc) and see what the reading/writing speeds are, compare to manufacturer ratings, also fully write the card a couple of times and verify that none of the files were written over, ie. the write didn't "wrap around" due to incorrect capacity.

  • Does anyone know if it works well for Macbook Air? (via an SD card adapter of course)

    • why wouldn't it ?

      • +1

        Because 🍎

Received the 128GB EVO+ uSD today, model number, (MB-MC128G/CN - Packaging signifies it's made in China but the card has Made in Philippines), matches Samsung's listing for the 128GB UHS-1 U3 EVO+ 2017 edition - it doesn't come with an adapter.

    UPC matches the product:

    https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/8952/52560/img_2017092…

H2testw reports a fairly consistent ~60MB/s write across the cards full capacity of 122079MB via a USB3 adapter, the card verifies fully.

    Results

Given I get ~60MB/s for both read and write this is likely to be a limitation of my USB3 card adapter.
