50% off Three Months of Audible Membership When Attempting to Cancel (Save $7.46 P/M)

130

I did a one month free trial with Audible.

When attempting to cancel, I was offered 50% off for three months if I stayed with them.

If someone else could verify that this works for them that would be great.

Thanks to Online Bathroomware:

You can stack the cancellation offer by selecting 'I get more credits than I can use' and you should be offered a $10 coupon. Then go ahead and select 'The membership fee was too expensive for me' to get the half price membership for three months.

  • I have done this before, and it was enough to keep me there for another 3 months. Good idea for a deal.

I go thru 3 books a month during long commutes, wish there was a cheaper way to get the books :(

I have communicated this to them as well, another company happy to charge Aus tax and offer less service…

      • Yeah I'd be spending $30 ish a month, they need a better deal for high consumers. Kobo should step up to the game sooner

      • Thanks mate, the mp3 version does look like a great option, though not sure if the author will see a single cent out of this

  • I'm a fan of audible but the book selection for Australia vs US/UK is relatively poor. Tried the Australian version and still have several credits left over because most of the books I want are not available on the Aussie store.

    • I have both an AU and US account. US used to be much better but they're getting more strict on geo-restricting titles on the US store as they add titles to the AU store. AU store is generally cheaper ($15 per credit = USD11.83 vs USD15 normal price on the US store) but you can get the US credits cheaper on different plans. US store also has the daily deal so I pick up a few titles there, and they have (in the past) had more sales that the AU store.

  • Yes received this offer recently when cancelling my AU account. In the US site, the offer varies - sometimes it's $20 credit, or discounted membership. I think there is a minimum subscription period before they'll offer it again (6 months maybe)?

  • In case you don't already know, there is OverDrive and BorrowBox apps, where you can borrow audiobooks/ebooks with your city council library card. It is totally free. I have gone through so many audiobooks, e.g. the whole set of Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Sapiens etc. I went through up to 5 audiobooks each week and really enjoying it.

    • Also i have been able to hack the apps by copy the mp3 files out of the app folder and am actually able to keep all the audiobooks even after the loans have already expired (probably only works on Andriod). I now have a local audiobook library of over 30 titles.

      • Last time I used Overdrive (for a work thing) we also found it was possible to burn the audiobook onto disk. It wrote out as an unprotected mp3.

I have the 4$ 4 month offer going on right now. This expires in November. I will try to get this done at that time.

It'd still be cheaper to cancel

    • Yep, it'd be cheaper not to use toilet paper too.
