Hello all,

Can never have too many cheap LED torches right? Of course, the '600 lumens' is not going to happen, but from the reviews these still seem like a good little torch for the money. Slightly cheaper than last time this was posted.

i have 2 of these and my phone led light is brighter. also the brightness of the 2 torches are different and not consistent.

Was it this exact model? That's odd- I've had heaps of cheap LED torches (some even cheaper than these) and even the worst of them was always way brighter than a phone LED. Maybe like the comment below suggests it was something to do with the battery?

      • perhaps i fail to mention that my phone LED is brighter than most phone LED. it is one of those old phones with those ultra bright LEDs.

i will have a look at the battery. could be it.

I have the exact same design but the brand is cree and they are definitely brighter than my galaxy s7 torch.

Change the battery if they seem dull

    Which battery were you using?

The AA might not have enough power output.

    • AA is fine in these.

I have about 7 of these and can never find one when I need it. Must buy another 3.

  • I've got 3 of these and 1 intermittently turns off and needs some precursive maintenance. Another one the zoom thing is dodgy and moves by itself. The 3rd seems good though.

They get dim as the batteries go like old incandescent torches used to do and eventually turn off. I find better results from 1.5v batteries than rechargeables.

    • rechargables are 1.2V if i remember correctly.

    • The one in this deal is probably better in terms of features- has a zoom and runs on one AA versus multiple AAA. Then again, build quality / ease of return would likely be better with Officeworks, and you'll get it sooner. Either should be fine.

  • Thanks Op, got 9
