  • Are people still buy the RX 580's for mining or has the demand gone down? Might have to settle for a 570 instead

    • Might want to look into 1060s at this point, unless you need Freesync

      • Was planning on buying a 144hz Freesync monitor and I'm not a fan of Nvidia drivers so AMD is the way to go for me. Thought about vega 56 as well but I want an aftermarket card. Only I'm scared of miners buying it all up causing inflated prices again.

not a fan of Nvidia drivers

          Erm … OooK.

        • @Diji1: AMD have been breaking their drivers for ever, how could nvidia be worse.

Mining isn't nearly as profitable anymore so people aren't buying these things in droves. This is more in line with their standard pricing so it's definitely an alright deal. I expect prices to settle back down to this level pretty soon.

This is about the same price as a 1060 3gb at the moment and it performs about the same give or take 5%. However the extra vram alone makes it a better buy.

      • Except you really need 3.6GB for 1080p gaming.

  • Great first time post op and welcome to Ozbargain :D

I ordered 3 cards last week from them. Money had been taken, so it is not a pricing error. Don't know when it will arrive yet.

    • Preorder? Could be a while. Still aren't many 570s around.

      • yes, says backorder in my account.

  • It is a very good price, I got mine at 412 one month ago.

This card worthy the price, even if the price is pushed up by mining

  • Hmm got a 480 Strix OC card for same price 6 mths ago.

At least it's a decent price for now

  • I hope Nvidia's or AMD's next card is designed just for mining. That would keep them from push up the price of gpus and it would make both sides happy.

  • I don't understand why this is used for mining? I thought a sub $100 gpu would do the trick..but obviously im wrong. Whats the benefit of using a pretty decent gaming gpu for mining? mining bitcoin I presume?

Low performance GPU -> Low mining rate -> Lesser money

      • Thanks
