Spotlight are selling 1.8ltr glass kettles for $25. https://www.spotlightstores.com/kitchen-dining/kitchen-appli…

    • limited stock + $10 postage

      • Available instore as well.

  • a bit of entertainment with your morning cuppa

Seriously?? All jokes aside in relation to a watched kettle never boils, who actively watches their kettle? Don't people have anything better to do in their life??

Also the fact that dirt and grime is easily visible does not make lime scale not build up, it just makes you kettle look ugly until you clean it, if you can get in all the cracks.

Have you had a glass kettle?
It's nice to see the water, you can tell how close it is to boil and how much is in there.

      • Yes, first and last.

It is nice when it lights up blue and easy to see how much there is; however it is also easy to see all the grime at the bottom..
Think of it as having white tiles with a house full of kids. Looks nice and works well in theory, but the cleaning is too frequent or too hard after a while.

Microwave does the same job, plus can heat my all milk instant coffees and hot chocolate, reheat tea.
Kettles only take clean water, cant wash in dishwasher, hard to find one with zero chemical leeching plastic.

    • Remind me never to have a cup of tea at your place.
A pot of water on the stove does the same thing without my water getting radioactive.

      cant wash in dishwasher

Do you put your microwave in the dishwasher?

      • Microwaves aren't radioactive. It is RF energy.

    • Which chemical leeching plastic are you referring to here say ?

      Or here ?

Also, you can stick anything you like (liquid wise) in a stove top kettle, and YES they are dishwasher safe.

Looks alright, but won't deal with Kogan again until they provide support for a faulty product. Returned it, and weeks later, nothing, all emails are ignored and no correspondence received.

  • I am wondering, do glass kettles start to look dirty after a while?

    • +1

Yes, they do. Kind of like a white car; nice and clean at first but gradually looks dirtier and dirtier (no matter if and how often you clean it)

      • that just shows that you don't know how to wash a car properly. My car is white, 18 years old with original paint and it's as white as it gets…

        • Lol it was an analogy, I don't actually have a white car. Just going off everyone else's.

        • I know but a lot of people believe that white car eventually become yellowish no matter what and it's absolute nonsense :)

I got one of this and when you pour hot water it spills every where. Got burned and I asked for refund.

I got a kettle from target later which is same price and works properly

    • Yikes. Okay I'll keep waiting for another deal the

    Too bad its Kogan branded.
